  • We just saw BB&HC with Sophia and she was so much better than this vid. I expected not to like her, I'm a fan of Janis, but was pleasantly surprised. The band is still tight and she held her own.

    Down on Me got everyone dancing and she really responded.

  • Not an expert on Janis but Sophie doesn't have all of the grit and edge of Janis, but check out some of Sophia's other stuff on here. She's puts on an real exciting show. Keep in mind Janis' shoes are big ones to fill. She knew this particular audience wanted Janis back.

  • When she talks in between lyric lines....that was Janis's style. When she shouts "HONEY YOU KNOW I DID" Thats' Janis. And she has all of Janis's ad libs. It's obvious she has learnt the songs by copying Janis rather than arranging her own vocals. Feels wrong.

  • go sam andrews go!...wow, he's really got something going there on guitar -- very comparable to what hames gurley was doing in the 60s (i.e. rough and tumble, beauty and passion)..and the girl is fantastic (do they still have her?) -- i looove the fact that shes not doing a janis imitation, she's an individual and a wonderful singer..i hope big brother write new songs and keep going forward, 'cause it's so hard to do that when u feel obligated to pander to fans who just won't let gom of the past

  • These guys were so much more interesting to watch when they were doing acid. This just sounds way too rehearsed and polished, and though the singer has a good voice, she's too smiley and has none of the stage presence Janis had.

  • I saw Sophia play Janis in Phoenix and she was awesome! It is true that no one can take the place of Janis as she was truly amazing but I don't think that is Sophia's intention at all. She is a force to be reckoned in her own right!! Check out her music if you don't believe me.

  • I respectfully adamantly disagree. Impossible to have anyone sing Janis songs better than Janis herself. While this lady is talented,she's no Janis. I am certain on other songs, her true voice comes through. Sadly, when any artist covers Janis, they are always compared to her, and then, it's never as wonderful as the Pearl. Peace.

  • Always loved BB. Never got the credit they deserved for being Janis' best backing band. Nice effort here, but miss that deep, profound anguish that always came from JJ. Sam Andrew was a damned good guitar player. Classically trained, and all that. Thanks for posting this.
