If anyone knows the Home of the Underdogs or Abandonia you can download these games for free up to newer ones like Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe and even Microprose's B-17 Flying Fortress
Great game -for the time. It was just unrealistic though the way you could shoot down 6 Zeros with your Dauntless (!) Still, it made you feel as though you were doing your part for the war effort! :D
When at high altitude it was often a lot easier tot take out the zekes first with your reargunner before attacking the ships. Your mates could already drop their loads then and destroy a ship or two. Your bombs could then take out another one causing maximum damage.
Definitely! It's the way I always did it too. The rear gun is extremely effective, and while preparing for a torpedo attack you really have your hands full and can't deal with the fighters...
The Atari ST and Amiga versions didn't support joysticks, but the IBM version did. It works with any 2-axis 2-button controller. No need to setup, you can instantly use it if it's present, just like the mouse. With DOSBox you don't even have to find a joystick antique!
Man, this takes me back! Still have this game - and Their Finest Hour, and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe! Thanks for putting it up - and a special thanks for gameplay - mostly you just get intros!

Wow, I remember playing this game back in '89. I think this was one of the first PC games I played...or it might have been Stellar 7.
Thanks for taking me down memory lane!
