I own a Glock 19 and a 1911,they're both great handguns,but torturing them just to see which gun is more tougher...I think there is no point in comparing them because guns are made to shoot not to be trown out of a plane or run over by a truck.
@ihaveairlockers yup the only reason we use the M9 is because the beretta was out first and Glock was still on paper. Now these guns will reign as the future pistol for the US military :). u could run it over with a freaking abrams and it will work...shit's invincible.... >.<
And not to mention people say the glock polymer isnt tough. I have seen several people drive over them with trucks, even one with a bull dozer. they all were fine. On the other hand, i would like to see someone do the same to a 1911 and see if the levers or grip panels crack or break off. I love the 1911 almost as much as my glocks and sigs, but they aren't in the same league as far as reliability and simplicity goes.
Go stick your 1911 in water for a few days and see what happens. The tenifer on the glock is way better than any finish on a 1911. sorry fore all the old 1911 fans, but face it, they aren't as durable as a glock/ sig or hk is. Can't stand the guys that buy a $1000+ 1911 and think its the best thing on earth. Maybe the most comfortable and decent performer but not as tough as people like to claim.

I personally think glocks are way overrated. Don't get me wrong, its a fine pistol. It fits very well for what it was designed. It has a high ammo capacity, simple, durable, and easy to clean as it requires little.
So basically its a simple easy to maintain design, but other then that......
I mean its not the most accurate pistol, or comfortable pistol I've fired. and the recoil is excessive, even for the 9mm.
Glocks are the shit try to find a torture test for the springfeild XD u wont cuz people dont wanna break there gun not that iam saying it a bad gun its just not a glock
@Dragunovluv You mean no one has bothered to do a torture test, they cost the same so its not a price issue. Its not as proven as a Glock but I'll take my XD over a Glock anyday and I do everyday.
You're an idiot, my friends dad is a firearms instructor, he uses an old g17 for demonstration purposes. I've seen him run it over, lob it in the air, throw it down rocky hills. Field strip and throw dirt in the frame and slide then shoot it. These guys tests are really quite good.
Some people will go to any heights to bash a Glock. I guess it's just jealousy mixed with stupidity for buying a $900.00 plastic gun that delivers half of the performance of $400.00 Glock.
I'll bet you could get a used Glock 23 .40 cal. for $400. I only paid $525 for my brand new Model 19 with 2 15-round magazines. I have owned 3 Glocks over the past 15 years, and they are worth every penny.
I can do this with my browning hi-power too. The point is simply that this particular test proves nothing. His other tests are relevant, not this one.
yes im sure your browning hp can do it so could my 1911 but the point is that its tough plastic.. they r trying to prove that the glock's frame can handle a beating and not crack or even shatter under the weight of a truck.. and an arse is a ass.

Wankers in office's writing specs for how they should perform is stupid. Real world tests are the best.
