  • If I have two subwoofers 12" 1200 wats each. And a 800 watt amp what would be better at 8 ohm or 2? Or which . I'm not so good at these curious to know whic is better Set up

  • @92Demr Does the amplifier do 800W RMS at 2Ω? If that is the case and the subwoofers are single 4Ω or dual 2Ω and you can wire them at 2Ω that would give you the best impedance load to get the best performance from the amplifier.

  • The impedance of the subwoofer depends on the frequency of the audio signal.

  • @texo0borsky Yeah there is some truth to that. If you use a multimeter to measure the impedance of a speaker that is rated at 4Ω you may get a reading like 3.5Ω or something in that range. The rating of the speaker is its nominal impedance which is the average impedance that the amp will see from the speaker inside its rated frequency range. Good point though and that is important to note to fully understand how a system works.
