  • What a beast!

  • I had the same issue and after taking the machine apart and after checking the mechanical and the electric, I found it was user error and a simple fix. The dial on the front panel was set between delicate and normal agitation. I simply turned the dial to make certain that the dial was hard stopped at one of the settings. No parts, no cost, no new washing machine.

I had the exact issue as shown in this video. I hope then next person that runs into this problem will test the quick fix first.

  • @jonnydenver Thanks for the tip. My symptoms just like yours. I checked first thing before diving into a repair to see if selector was set to normal. It was not set at normal as you described. The dial was slightly off the detented position. Once I moved the dial to normal position, washer worked perfectly. Thank you again.

  • I have that one.

  • I had a washer like this. Had for it awhile and it stopped spining so I threw throw it away.

  • my mom has that brand.

  • It's obviously the TP973728 not teleporting the rare gazoo substance back to the planet LB9802 hence why your washing machine is not working as it should.

  • i had a machine like this

  • Looks like the machine is trying to start the wash cycle, but the motor wont engage.

  • Mototr start swich?

  • my machine is doing the same thing, I already replaced a broken coupler, so I am thinking the comment about the tranny locking up may be correct. I will pull the transmission case out and take a look. It agitates and spins slightly, but the clicking and power pull is there.

  • @benquintana2001 Ben, I think I have the same problem as you. In the start of the spin cycle when the tub drained it began to spin but slowly with the clicking and pulling power. Our first clue was that the lights in the house started getting dim about 2 times a second. You said you replaced the motor coupler. But what else did you have to do, or did you just get a new washer? I have to make a quick decision on whether to DIY this tonight or shop for new at lunch. Write back if you can. Thanks!

  • sounds like its trying to engage but not quite doing it..

when the washer changes gears the motor will draw a slight bit of power but in your case the gears do not seem to be engaging so you are getting the click click sound and every time there is a click the motor is pulling power to make the change but not getting anywhere so it tries again..

I will point out the constant pull pull pull the motor is doing I am sure it will cause it to warm up and possibly burn it out

  • A motor replacement would have likely remedied this problem...plus some tub scrubbing, as its an issue with the centrifugal switch on the motor likely.

  • this is a recommended video????

  • piece of shit

  • The repair man should clean detergent remains inside!

  • sounds like a 2 stroker ALLMOST starting...

  • Gear and pinon replacement in the gearcase.

  • switch the spark plug in it

  • might be the dogs (little teeth on the inside of the agitator) not catching? they need to be replaced once they wear down

  • sounds like theres a old 1hp engine there

  • I have at Roper model wash machine.Wan't drain,Is the rapair of couple all the same.india

  • Motor

  • its a bad wire harness. just replace it and you will be good to go.

  • now i know what was wrong with our GE washer

  • HARD DRIVE CRASH! XD

  • We replaced the machine with a new Speed Queen. Its a much nicer machine. The Kenmore had rust in the tub anyway.

  • @mistereric2 Hows the Queen treatin ya?

  • @budgetappliance Working GREAT! i like it. Feels like a higher quality machine.

  • all you need is a motor coupler and that will stop the click noise

  • loose white/violet, white/orange, or violet wire... the start winding is kicking but when the centrifical switch clicks there isnt a winding to carry it.. Very possible to have a bad run winding.. you would have to ohm it out. call a pro :)

  • Its the motor, the centrigugal switch its locked, just replace it.

  • That sound is so familiar, it's the transmission locking up, and the motor straining to force the transmission to agitate, i know cause my boyfriends exact same Kenmore did the same thing this one is doing, and it was the tranny..

  • I had the same click click sound and the washer used to jump around while spining and now it doesn't spin and drum seems to have come off from its place. How did u fix ur washer? I have Kenmore 80 series

  • The bolts on the bottom of the washer have probally backed out.

Turn the machine over and retighten them. That was my problem,
