Old school thrash isn't making a comeback. They are coming back to their old ways, but they are all of a completely depleted quality. His vocals just CAN'T match reign in blood, and neither can the intensity. The only band who's old and going strong is Exodus, because they've only gotten better!

Um, the point was that Slayer has been playing with absolutely crappy bands and seeing them now that they are old and tired and all the "up and coming" bands they play with suck, I don't ever want to see them. I will save it for bands that support true metal.
Well, you might say that, but you really have to see them live to understand. They have the intensity of slayer as well as have guitarists who play more scale stuff than what slayer does. They can't compare drums wise to dave lombardo, but their drummer is awesome. The singer brings energy to new limits and has an amazing voice.

Well I'm impressed with Slayer. They've done well to keep an edge, mostly avoided nu-metal and survived the metalcore storm. Of course they can't play like they used to, but I have a hell of a lot of respect for middle aged men who can play furious music like this. I bet some of the best 80's thrash bands would be an embarrassment compared to Slayer if they dared show their face in 2009. Except for Coroner... they would never fail.

Old school thrash isn't making a comeback. They are coming back to their old ways, but they are all of a completely depleted quality. His vocals just CAN'T match reign in blood, and neither can the intensity. The only band who's old and going strong is Exodus, because they've only gotten better!

I do. I like some of the late 80's hip hop, I like classical (bach beats mozart and beethoven by a LONG shot). I also like some of the classic rock like queen, the who, and such. It's more a band thing for me. Is the band good? Never is it "what genre is it". That only applies to deathcore because I can't STAND deathcore. I do like Hardcore punk though...

Well, you might say that, but you really have to see them live to understand. They have the intensity of slayer as well as have guitarists who play more scale stuff than what slayer does. They can't compare drums wise to dave lombardo, but their drummer is awesome. The singer brings energy to new limits and has an amazing voice.

Well I'm impressed with Slayer. They've done well to keep an edge, mostly avoided nu-metal and survived the metalcore storm. Of course they can't play like they used to, but I have a hell of a lot of respect for middle aged men who can play furious music like this. I bet some of the best 80's thrash bands would be an embarrassment compared to Slayer if they dared show their face in 2009. Except for Coroner... they would never fail.

I grew up with metal in the 80s and 90s and metalheads were pretty laid back and accepting of most other's music, but today they are like music nazis where if you don't like what they like, then you suck and so does your choice of music. Dude, Kreator is a great band but knowing a band that other people might not, dosen't make you better. You can go rant on how much your bands are better on a Kreator vid or some shit like that. Guitars aside, it's the same tired bullshit that they've been peddling since Diabolus in Musica. The 3 'big' thrash bands released albums in the past couple of years, and Megadeth won decidedly with "Endgame". About as close to the 80s as any of these bands will ever get again.

Endgame sounds more modern.
I think Metallica was more successful in returning to their older, thrashier form.

Sorry dude, I respect Slayer for still keeping it new, but they are getting old, and they need to make the guitars heavier in this album.
I love Death Magnetic, because it reaffirms why Metallica was great in the first place, and they have a thing most of Thrash peers didn't have,

Well, man I LOVE OLD SCHOOL ALWAYS, it's just Megadeth to me, needs some with more variety, even Slayer has more variety than they do.
And yeah, that's because you never gave Metallica a second chance, EVERYONE fucking thought they would be the PERFECT band, but no , of course when they changed everyone turned their back.
I amazed everyone gave fucking Megadeth a second chance despite "Risk" the worst Metal album after St. Anger.
And without variety Metallica would've been dead decades ago.

I hated St. Anger (except Frantic for it has a guitar solos, and fast music).
It has no emotion, no solos, it has no resemblance of Metallica, unlike the past and future of their music.
