  • Interesting thoughts here. But all of this begs a huge question. Quicksilver is far from dead. It's compatible with SL and the code is being worked on to maintain it. Other than problems with plugins it's difficult to imagine QS improving much. So why not just use it and not worry about the vast unknowable future?

  • @dogdutyascetic At that time there were no new versions of quicksilver which made me uncertain about whether to continue to use quicksilver or not. I also found out in the end that my configuration uses less ram than quicksilver since I'm using built in features like spotlight. I have not tried the new quicksilver snow leopard version but I have read some reviews which coin it as mediocre. But since I haven't tried it I don't know how it compares to the old version for me personally.

  • @Nanotech11 I think the newer build runs better than any previous version I've used. I'm on Snow Leopard. While it's true that QS uses more ram than native spotlight and perhaps alunch together it's far from a ram or cpu hog if it's set up properly. But hey, if you're happy with your current setup that's the main thing. I just wanted to mention in the comments that QS seems very much alive and well on OS X in case folks got the idea from your video that it was no longer working in Snow Leopard.
