  • Terrific! Greetings to everyone from Jarrahnut (Colin) in wonderful Western Australia.

  • It is nice to see that they are still together, and their voices still sound as good as the first time!!! Roll jenny jinkins roll!!!

  • time to hang it up

  • I love the rhyme for "will you wear orange" that David Grisman and Jerry Garcia used:

"Orange I won't wear, cause it rhymes, SO THERE!"

I love Pete and Jean's music; always have, always will.

  • beautiful.

  • The other night, this song got stuck in my head, and as I was drifting to sleep, the rhyme for "Silver" came to me.

And no. I aint sharing. Find your own rhyme! :)

  • Thank you for fun up-lifting music! What a blessing!

  • If'n that ain't my Ma and Pa those two sure raised me up real good anyhow! What a beautiful sparkling gem of a video!

  • Long live Pete and Jean.

  • That is so cool. There is a much older version of them performing the same song, and there they are doing it again. I love it.

  • @thimoneus I bet this was like old times for them. :)

  • beautiful! :)

  • It brings a tear to my eye to know that these two are still at it. They've performed a remarkable service in preserving America's musical heritage in the electronic age and turning recent generations onto the joy of musical creativity. Roll, Pete and Jean, Roll.!

  • ill buy me a roldy foldy tildy toldy seek a double use a cozzy roll to find me:)

    (according to jerry)

  • Hello, RayB- Thanks for the thanks.....the words I sing to the chorus are: Foldy-roldy-tildy-tolly-seek-a-double-use-a-cause-a-roll-o'bindin. As such it has no real meaning, but probably started out as a reference to sewing or mending, or quilting? (Roll 'o binding). We used to "bind" the edges of our new quilts just off the frame. Jean

  • Thanks for sharing that with us.I could never quite figure out what them words was in that there song...Folly rolly dilly dally seeka dubble music cause a roll about me?...Right?

  • Perfect display of what music is...FUN!!!!

  • Hahaha....delightrful! I learned this song off a record when i was five, and loved it. I still sing it when the mood strikes me! Thank you for this American gem...and with these artists!!

  • Two American treasures - Seeger and Ritchie.

  • FANTASTIC! An American treasure.

  • absolute brilliance !! top of the class

    thank you

  • What a gift, can't get better. Excellent

  • magnificent and timeless!

  • Pete is very much alive and living in the Hudson River valley, near Beacon, NY. And, at 88, he sings just fine for me! I would assume that all of his works are nicely archived since he is the son of a musicologist and an archivist himself.

  • Do you know him? I would love to meet and ask him to sign my guitar.

  • I don't know him, but have known OF him for a long time. He a founder of the Clearwater Foundation, promoting a clean Hudson River and a sailing boat called Clearwater. Go to clearwater DOT org for info. They have a 2-day festival every year (June 21-22 in 2008) around Beacon, NY. As long as he can still do so, Pete attends & performs. I plan on going up this year. Some of the last chances to see a true living legend.

  • Thanks I will look into it.

  • grisman and garcia got me into this tune its a an old traditional and great one

  • I love the Not For Kids Only album. These guys are wonderful as well.

  • This has got to be put in some archive somewhere and preserved.. This is a culture that is slipping through our fingers day by day.

  • Mr. Seeger is a wonderful guy. I remember my pre-school teachers singing his songs for us back in the 60's.
