  • Really great cameo appearance by Pete Murray at 1.37. But how times have changed, with all those immobile girls! Today they'ld have been exhausted even at the end of this ballad.

  • Lovely, just brought the complete 50s singles on acrobat wonderful I had forgotten just how good he was, thanks for sharing..

  • He had SOME, voice.

  • This is pure magic! I love it!

  • Must be a clip from an old film. 6.5 Special, I'm guessing

  • Thank goodness rock turned up.

  • I have been a DV fan since i first saw him with Ted Heath in 1952 at the Aquarium Brighton. I have over 100 of his songs on disc, and never stop listening to then.He was definitely the best ballard singer/crooner that we have ever had .

If you listen closely to his voice he has afar better range that Sinartra etc

  • What a beautiful man, his voice as warm and welcoming as he was in person, truly special in every way.

  • the girl who sang before dickie valentine is called diane todd, who also appeared in the film the six five special, also with, dickie valentine, and petula clark, joan regan, pete murray, and jo douglas

  • Is the woman in this song named Lita Rosa?

  • I had never heard of Dickie until I got to this website

  • What a great voice and what a great loss to music. His diction was perfect you can hear every word, different to many singers of today, can't understand what they are singing about half the time, because their diction is so bad.

  • What great memories. They were singers back then, you could hear every word. Dickie was great just like David Whitfield. Nice to see this on here.

  • Sorry that should read the early 60,s

  • Dickie Valentine was one of my favourite singers when i was about 16,i saw him several time when he sang with the Ted Heath band, and later in the early 70,s in cabaret always a great performer.

  • He s a better singer then John,Paul,George or Ringo.

  • Great to hear him. A great singer with great phrasing and power.Unfortunately all but forgotten now. One of the true greats.

  • i been trying to find dvd of dickie valentine , no matter how hard i try its hard to find , anyone know where i can get a copy from if there is one?

  • Great!. Thanks for posting.

  • Dickie, where gone/ tHE GIRL WHO SANG BEFORE HIM, WHERE SHE GONE? aS WE GET OLDER AND FRIENDS DIE, WE CARRY ON AND LOVE OUR OLD TIMES.

  • i really thought dickie was underated oh for the old songs again

  • Loved Dickie Valentine and it was terribly sad he died so young in car accident.

I thought that his voice was wasted a lot on songs he was given it was meant for the romantic, this being one of the few.

  • A brilliant vocalist. One of this country's finest of this style.

    Thanks for posting.
