  • @xSnakeEyezz There once was a time when the majority of people said that the world was flat. Did that make them right? No.

Like I said before, there are accounts in the bible that are provably wrong, so how can you trust it on anything it has to say when what we can verify is wrong?

  • @xSnakeEyezz I was not always Athiest, I was once christian. But I can not find any evidence of a loving god in this world. A sadistic god or a god that just doesn't give a fuck maybe, but such a god is not deserving of praise anyways.

Is Yahweh the one that causes all of the bad things in the world, or is he conveniently only responsible for the good things?

  • @xSnakeEyezz You of course realize that people of every other religion both can and do make the same claims? To paraphrase your own words "If you think so many Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Shintos, Seicho-no-les and many others world wide are being decieved you seem rather foolish."

  • @xSnakeEyezz How do you know that Yahweh is real? What is the evidence? The Bible? Surely not since many of the stories within are provably wrong if not downright absurd. And if the bible can't even get the verifiable things right how can you trust it with the unverifiable?

  • @xSnakeEyezz I'm sorry, but which "god" are you talking about? There are many, many gods that exist.

Are you talking about Yahweh? If so, comparing him to a fictional character is very fitting. After all, both are fictional characters, their words and actions were both written by men.

  • HAHAHAHA! "Merciful God?" Yahweh is one of the most unforgiving characters I've ever seen. Hell, Darth Vader was more forgiving then him. Darth Vader would at least have the decency to kill you quickly, Yahweh has you burn and suffer forever and ever.

Darth Vader is more sympathetic too.

  • John the B. was badass

  • Wicked people send condemn others to hell to suffer for eternity.

  • According to Christianity EVERYONE is worthless, and no one deserves life, and we are ALL lowly creatures trudging through the muck that is LIFE. If that is so, then what is the point. From what I hear no matter what we do, there is always someone somewhere pointing out something in some scripture damning everyone to a horrible hellish fate.

  • @saphirereflection You may be getting the wrong sources. My suggestion is that you read what the Bible says, as opposed to what people may say (who may be wrong, or may not be explaining properly). Romans 3:23 does indeed say: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." But, we read in Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

So, indeed we *are* sinners, but God forgives us if we put our faith in Jesus Christ!

  • This is just white noise.

  • clubsoda, the Bible calls the Catholic Church the Mother of all Whores and Abominations on this Earth, in the Book of Revelation.

  • @ScorpioJJ420 No offense, but that statement really seems like it wasnt out of love... As far as revelation, we can never be too sure about Eschatology. God left things like that for our interpretation. Even if your statement was true, how in the world would it benefit the person you are speaking to. Even if it was truth, your delivery seems more of an attack rather than exhortation. Also, when you make statements like that make sure to leave a reference, it helps a lot so people can look it up.

  • It's my religious practices that allow me to go to church and recieve the Holy Eucharist and attend Holy Masses, and pray the rosary, etc. How is this bad? (This guy is a slippery character.)

  • @clubsoda69 The truth is, religion and good works does not get us to heaven. Being all "religious" means nothing if we do not surrender our Lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. God calls us to repentance, not religion. He calls us to have a relationship with Him through Christ, not through obligations.

  • Why is it that, out all the religions, in the world, in existence, Christianity is picked on the most? After 9/11, there is rarely anything picking on the religion of Islam? That Peace is criticized and War is italicized? Everyone should watch Mark's videos more often. He has already brought me closer to God, and that was through Youtube... God's Grace...

  • Um, ever heard of Judaism? I'm guessing that Auschwitz trumps the made-up "war on Christmas."

Christianity is actually picked on the least. You guys just feel the most entitled.

  • where's that proof?

It's funny how out of all the religions, Christianity totally beats them all. The reason that people choose to turn the other way is they think that the Bible is FULL OF RULES, where in actuality, it tells you the things you can do. All you have to do is read it, and love Jesus with all your heart.

  • Nothing like an insufferable Christian who claims to be both a victim and superior. It's the perfect combination of ignorance and arrogance.

I'm guessing that what you know about other religions wouldn't fill a thimble.

  • I am a sinner.

    I ask for God's forgiveness.

    I am forgiven.

I most likely will mess up again.

    (Cycle of the Christian Sinner)

  • @EPTechCompany Then what good is that, what good are you for being a Christian if you're still a screw up? Only real difference now is that you've opened the door to hypocrisy and a phony sense of security. At the very least you realize the error of being a Christian.

  • @Chibithy The "good" of being a Christian is that we surrender ourselves to Christ, realizing that we're imperfect, but we are saved by His grace and His act of propitiation. Hypocrisy is only the case on sin that was willingly committed, when at the same time we claim we follow. 1 John 1: 5-7 is a good example. Our sense of security isn't phony; it's been reconfirmed by our faith in Jesus.

  • @EPTechCompany You've forgot the most important part!!! Jesus' sacrifice provided the way, the path to be free! Throw off your chains! Walk free from sin!!! :)

  • Wow, all this confusion, you guys. Your god should probably have left you clearer instructions.

  • if he did that, we'd probably complain about it being too simple haha.

  • A MAJOR ERROR in his teaching regards BAPTISM. He states that baptism is for the GENTILES, the unclean... not the religious Jews. What we call baptism was known by Jesus and the Disciples as MIKVEH. It was COMMON for all religious Jews and the Temple had HUGE Mikveh pools for CLEANSING before people entered the Temple for whatever "sacrifices" they had...

Another example of Gentiles just not "getting it" because they do not know Scripture... all of the Scripture, not just the NT.

  • I believe you may have misinterpreted that part:

Watch from 2:20. Jesus and John said everyone needed to repent / get baptized (Mark 1:4), and John called the Jews to repentance.

When Mark says "Jewish people didn't get baptized" (2:38), he is taking the point of view of the Jews / Pharisees at that time.

Again at 2:54, he is saying the Jews found it mind bending that John would call them to repentance / baptism, when in reality it's for anyone and everyone.

  • Reliogn is truly the root of all evil. Time and time again, history proves it. Religion and religious people are the scum of the earth that need to be wiped out.

  • No, the Bible explains pretty clearly that sin is the root of all evil and that we are all sinner. Therefore we are all capable of all kinds of evil. Your statement cannot be supported by historical fact since there have been countless acts of evil done without benefit religion of any kind.

  • Couldn't agree more. Religion has done untold harm to the world and the poor, deluded people who follow it.

  • Minor Correction:

Baptism was a Jewish tradition called "Immersion". And it WAS traditional for Jewish people to be immersed for repentance......especially around the time of Rosh Hashanah. Some scholars believe that's what John was doing.....it fits the time of year. Immersion was also used for gentile conversion ceremony as you mentioned.

  • I need the punch into my religious attitude....convicting. Bring it! Thanks for preaching the Word Driscoll.

  • You obviously don't think it is, or else your curiosity would have never had you click on this video.

  • Or I think it is and I'm challenging it!

  • Salvation is not just jumping out of the line to Hell into the Line to Heaven, it's a supernatural external and internal work by the Lord Jesus Christ, through the process of justification on the Cross, we die daily, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit, until the day of Judgement when we are not condemned! Amen!
