I still wish the video of this duet had been balanced out a bit. You only get a couple of Mr. Costello's lines. Saw SC in Philadelphia and I think I was up too close to the orchestra and the voices were just going over our heads. People toward the back said they could hear the voices just fine. One thing about Merry Widow is the plot never resolves what becomes of Rosillon and Valencienne. Does she leave Zeta or does he find another love??
Agreed. Ms Paulin was actually one of the high points of the performance for me. My main complaint about the Dallas opera (which is evident in the video) is how hard it can be to hear any of thing vocal performers over the orchestra. And this is a violinist saying that!
I totally agree. Fair Park Music Hall should stick to musicals and keep the symph. over @ the Meyerson. PTL for Winspear!! Have you seen any preformances there yet?
It's to bad people need to be cruel. There is no reason to make dispariging remarks about people here. Ms. Paulin is a lovely singer and an even lovelier person. If you can't say something nice, than keep it to yourself. Bravi Stephen and Nathalie! Beautiful Singing!
Not the purest vocals from Ms. Paulin. The audio was less than desirable.

I'm not a fan of how Mr. Costello constantly scoops up to his high notes, but I do enjoy him as a singer. He's got a wonderful intensity to him.
