It IS based on "Beat it" (the guitar solo part, more specifically), and that's one of the reasons why this game isn't out in America, and why Earthbound isn't coming to the Virtual Console. The "Mother" series has so many actual, real life, references and samplings of various copyrighted materials, logos, etc. that Nintendo would rather keep the games true to themselves rather than go through the material and edit, censor and remove parts deemed too similar actual trademarked property.

Here's what I did for this fight:

Lucas - Defense up Omega x2, Offense up Omega x2, Counter Omega (reinforce as needed), Lifeup Omega as needed

Kumatora - Offense down Alpha, Defense down Alpha, attack

Duster - Scary Mask, Tickle Stick, attack

Boney - attack, use Shield Snatcher as needed

After buffing everyone, and debuffing the NKC, the fight gets easy, especially with the counters in place. The music's also pretty easy to combo to most of the time.

You have to be careful with this guy; he DOES have a PSI Counter set up at the beginning of the match. I learned that the hard way when I raped myself with Love Omega and Starstorm. Also, it bugs me that PSI Shields and PSI Counters don't stop lightning. I mean, it's intentionally in the game, it's not a glitch, but it still bugs me.
