We now approach the second anniversary of the death of these fine men... and as a family member of Stephan Mace, I can say that time is not a healer.... we struggle to make sense of his sacrifice... and all the others that have been made... my heart breaks for Aaron's dad.... as your sentiments reflect those of my husband's.(Stephan's father).... sending blessings, strength, wisdom, and love to all the surviving friends and families of those lost....
I was a career soldier.... 25 years. My Son Aaron Smith was on his second tour in Afganistan when he was killed.
When he was born I had no direction in life, no real idea on how to be a father to this young child in front of me, so I did what I hoped would make him proud of me, I joined the army. He changed my life.
Aaron was on his 1st tour to Afganistan when I was on my last tour to Iraq.
I am proud of my son and I loved him very deeply. Right now his death is more than I can bear.
This was the hardest Christmas and New Years in my life..... I am so gratefull for my daughter and my son.... I really miss my boy and I am proud of the man he became..... he was, is and always will by my hero... god rest you Aaron, you have earned your peace.
My prayers are with you and your family. No one should have to endure such pain. Please know many others have experienced such a loss and are available to help you cope. If I can be of any assistance please send me an email.
R.I.P. OWENS i miss you. we had a lot of great times in basic you really motivated me threw out the entire 5 months, you never quit. thank you owens for everything.
I saw your arrival in Tucson, AZ at Davis-Monthan AFB. I left my station to come out to give you a final salute for your service and sacrifice. Your families prayers are in my thoughts, and I thank you for all you gave brother. I never knew you, but being brother in arms, I feel you as family. God bless...your safe now.
i am the brother of specialist stephan lee mace. your words have really touched me. i had lost a lot of faith in this country until i saw over 1500 people lined along the streets of my home town praying for my brother... thank you all. bradley mace,
My tears are tokens of not just my grief. Find in them my profound pride in these our finest citizens, rejoicing in the victories they achieved and deep admiration for their essential American souls.
God Bless these soldiers who gave all and their families who grieve their loss. It's so sad to see some of their comments that their soldier died "doing what they loved" Not too sure about that.
Thanks for posting these it's good of you to help us remember them and the seriousness of the loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are there for these brave men, their families, their friends and their fellow comrades. God Bless you all and may these heroes rest in peace.
