@Hotshotmech38 the mazda group c prototype rotarys go back along way. the 787b just got fame because it was the only one with any success lol. Im pretty sure they didnt end up racing these cars. . one was planned to be a triple rotor and i think some where quads..

It uses the same engine, and has a better l/d ratio. Much better, actually. Much better than anything built today. It also has better front downforce from the aggressive diffuser... you can see the exit there. That meant it had much less understeer.

But it had chronic problems with the exhaust system overheating. Ultimately it was faster than the 787 but it just didnt work right.

@mantzini I don't think you know who that is you're talking about.

That's Rick Engman, greatest rotary engine builder in the world. He rebuilt the engine in that car for Mazda (Which is why it was in Atlanta in the first place). He also built most of the race rotary engines through the 70s,80s, and 90s as well as aided in the development of the RENESIS and 16X engines.
