  • this is my favorite Xmas song..great performance

  • Have seen this performed at the First Methodist in Hazlehurst a couple of years ago, and even though this is great, it cannot be compared to hearing it live.

  • This is a lovely performance and could only be better if the sound quality on the recording didn't let the higher octaves drown out the lower range, but that's no fault of the choir. Absolutely splendid work; one of the most beautiful ways I've ever heard this carol. Thank you for putting it up.

  • I'm a handbell player at Shallotte Middle, and I play C6 D6 :))

  • this is really neat!

  • Very pretty, although the person holding the camera should have been more still. we can hear something at the camera.

  • Very nice! It's just unfortunate the sound recording quality wasn't better.

  • boar wie geil ist das denn, beautiful

  • :3 We just played the simple version of this in our handbell choir. Its so beautiful. GO DINGALINGS

  • When you see their arms from the side, they look like spider legs moving in rhythm, very cool!

  • that's really cool!

  • This is really beautiful! We have a smaller set of handbells in the school i work for the kids to use. We never do anything as complicated as this tho.

  • when i first pulled this video up i expected it to be sloppy and not together. when i finished i watched it like 3 more times. this was an exellent perfomance. probably one of he best handbell songs on youtube

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful....The sound of the bells are so hypnotic.

  • Huh, it's different than the version we have... It's still pretty :D

  • It's like playing bass in a marching band lol

  • cool.

  • This is killer! I'd LOVE to see this live!!!!

  • y love the handbells

  • lol i have to play this with only 12 people and it sounds almost as good, be sure to check my channel from Dec. 6th to Dec. 10th! it wont sound that good but it is still pretty cool

  • that AMAZING!!!

  • It takes soo much practice, we've only have about 6-15 practices and by the 3rd practice there had been over 30 clinks

  • Thanks for uploading! It has been my dream since I was a wee lass to play handbells. You guys are superb; well done! =D

  • wow!!! AMAZING!!

  • wow, i have seen other videos and none of them are as good as these people. they must have some strong arms wrists and hands to do that stuff all the time.

  • this is beyond awesome!!!!!

  • I saw something same in Sopron, Hungary month ago. It was very intresting and sounds quite well.

  • I remember doing this piece with the handbell choir I was in.

  • Simply beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes.

  • There's something intrinsically good about this song being done by bells. Put a good choir in the background, and you have something that can't be beaten.

  • Nice job!

  • Beautifully done. I spent many years in choir and this was always one of my favorite pieces. I forgot how pretty it was done by a handbell choir. Brought a tear to my eye, lol, yeah I'm a soppy git. Have a great day!

  • Very beautiful, I thoroughly enjoyed listening!

  • I was in bith da German and Hungarian Bell choir in grade 6 an 7. in South Africa

  • doing that takes such talent and focus. amazing!!!

  • amazing :D

  • creepily awesome :D

  • Handbells aren't actually that hard to learn. Each person only has two bells at a time (expect when switching to flat or sharp) so the only real practice is making sure everyone can stay on beat. I used to play in middle school, and I absolutely loved it! :)

  • Excelente!!!

  • I want tuh play this song in my concert ringers class this song is absolutely beautiful

  • my words to AMAZING!!!!!!

That was absolutely outstanding, keep up the good work....i love that song!!!

  • this makes me miss handbells so much!

  • I used to belong to a 5 octave handbell choir. Could play 3 bells in each hand once upon a time. What's missing here is the largest bell. I've forgotten the note but it took a very large man two hands to ring it.

  • @user351atberk that's so cool that you could play with 3 belles in each hand, i have a singing/belles group at my highschool and i struggle with playing with 2 belles in 1 hand!!!

    jeez ur talented!!:)

  • This song is always played in USA and everywhere but not many know that is an authentic Ukrainian song. I heard the best western versions of it and let me tell you, the Ukrainian national choir is still better. It is called: "Shedrik"

  • oh also, how long did it take you guys to learn this piece?

  • i would like my handbell choir to learn this piece and i was wondering how many octaves does this piece need?

  • absolutely wonderful !,

    sonds like "choir of angels"

    congratulations from Ukraine :)

  • Favorite Christmas song...

  • We played this with our handbell choir...

it's a nice enough sounding piece when you're in the audience...

but playing it is no fun.

I hope we'll never have to play that again

  • Very good performance. I was wondering, was the whole choir used for that piece or just a part of the whole choir. Also, how many octaves do you guys have? I'm in a handbell choir as well, and we have 5 octaves with 11 people. I often get stuck with upwards of 7-8 bells, and it gets quite hard to juggle them all around. But anyways, great performance.

  • wow. just... wow.

  • That's beautiful, and perfect for the season too!

  • its beautiful especially since they're only using bells (i think)

  • that was absolutely gorgeous!! We performed that in our choir, but it wasnt near as beautiful as that!

  • i showed my father which was my favourite carol which is carol of the bells so he asked me if id ever seen hand bell carols.. which i had not so i did a search and you came up first..well i was blown away by it, i just wish i had been there live.. you are wonderful i loved it thank you

  • OMG! AMAZING!

  • Amazing!

  • so beautiful...

    like a lullaby........

  • It would be awesome if you did most of this song as the handbells, then that vocal choir behind you stood up and sang the song WITH the bells. Oh man that would rule.

  • Incredibile una meravigliosa dei risultati migliori che ho sentito!

  • simply amazing. how much practice did this take?

  • We start rehearsing in September and play several songs at Christmas along with this song.

  • zajebiste to jest, aż dreszcze idą...

  • wow with accompaniment! THE BEST! wow the best!but they can't get the part of tenor flawlessly!

  • This video is amazing :)

    I love how it sounds

  • what level piece is this?

  • There is not a level rating on this because it was published before they started using ratings. I would put it as a 2+. It really is not that hard, but it gets harder as you pick up the tempo.

  • This goes in my playlist!

  • this is so beautiful i thinki like it better than a actual choir!!

  • still my all time favorite christmas carol and this version is just sublime.

  • amazing song+amazing choir=amazingness!

  • wow.. this is great.

  • AMAZING!

  • Swiss Bells are even more amazing to see played. Imagine one guy playing all the bells. There was an outdoor concert near out hotel this year, and the guy played loads to tunes including Edelweiss. It was just beautiful.

  • this sound amazing!

  • wow this is sooo cool

  • this is so much better than choir singing it. of course, because these are bells and its a "carol of the BELLS"

  • This is great!!

  • Way better with real bells than the "faked" stuff... BRAVO!

  • yes, adrianna, there is a bell choir. ^_^

i actually play this, the big bells c thru f#, and it's not easy. good performance!

  • This is so weird and creepy and awesome at the same time...

  • That is a good description of the director of this group. He is my brother so I am allowed to make fun of him.

  • So pretty,,thank you,,

  • there's such things as handbell choirs??? never heard of them till now and i'm a senior in high school....

  • The first tuned handbells were developed by brothers Robert and William Cor in Aldbourne, Wiltshire, England between 1696 and 1724. -wikipedia

  • Somewhat surprisingly, Adrianna008, you won't know everything there is to know about the world ever. No-one possibly can... lol

  • i would bet there are lot of things in this world you have never heard of--you are only a senior in high school! :-D
