I wonder how many times the great American John McCain has regretted giving this woman a position on the national stage? Without his decision she'd be an unknown that kills defenseless animals from a helicopter. Now, she's making millions, likely still killing defenseless animals, but hopefully the majority of voters understand she lacks the qualification for any national office. Her lack of political intellect makes her a female George Bush.

You're right about production in general, my point was the president isn't sitting there saying "Hey, I hate this country so I want In God We Trust moved to the side." Here are some, a ( contract law) a( tax law) in which we agree to when we began to work. let me explain, your employer pays for your services with money right, and that money is provided or made by the US government right. That money is then taxed by US government and circulated throughout the country and even the world where people of different cultures and different folklore beliefs come in contact with it whether they want to or not. What would be so bad about removing "In God we trust"? It's not something that was on the original dollar bills? The USA doesn't have a homogenous population? Atheist/Agnostic is the largest minority in the USA at 15%, maybe sharing the place with Hispanics/Latinos. Then add in Buddhists etc, and not to mention people believing in Deism not Theism...

Yeah its funny how republicans are always saying I'm for the constitution when there not. First amendment and what it addresses. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion "What that means, is that there are no laws forcing you to worship. There are no laws forcing you to believe." But the engraving "In God We Trust" on US currency is a law.

This happened not just when Bush was president but when Republicans were in control of all of Congress making all the rules and laws. The new dollar coin started in the year 2000 with Sacajawea. In God We Trust was moved to the side rim like the original colonial coins. But the right wingers started their lies (on themselves this time) and tried to say the motto was removed from the coin. It wasn't. Only the position changed.

A lot of Conservatives appear to have this mistrust of anyone with significant intellect. They seem drawn to people with more "common sense". I think this has been fed by these strange conspiracies about colleges being indoctrination camps so they mistrust anyone that fits their view of a college educated person. Also they like "s/he is just like me" candidates more and many of the rank and file Conservatives tend to be less educated then most Republicans.

Agreed. I don't think that it's TOO melodramatic to compare John McCain's career to a bit of a tragic drama. A true war hero comes home, goes into politics and, though I don't think McCain was ever a particularly intelligent man, maintained some sort of character about himself while in office. Then, after losing his shot at the presidency to an impotent daddy's-boy by standing up for rationality, caves in to senility and power hunger by becoming the portrait of a political sham. Sad.
