  • 1:19 mmmmmmmmmm...........

  • Esa pelicula esta tremenda, me encanto

  • Weird question... do you think this would be a hit in real life? I think so.

  • @monkeysoulpoet Absolutely.

  • @monkeysoulpoet Hell to the yes. Jonathan could be a rockstar.

  • iTunes tells me I've listened to this song over 70 times. I got it yesterday.

  • This guy wants to be David Bowie so badly.

  • @TheAnalyticalFailure this guy's character was inspired by David Bowie

  • Even with make-up and a pink wig on, I'd still lick him. God JRM is such a sexy sexy man!

  • I love his fuckin boots... they're almost as sexy as Ewan's wink at the beginning...

  • @MuSIcFreAK789 This movie has a LOT of really awesome boots.

  • @loljustice31 Yeah there should be a glam shoestore called Velvet Goldmine haha

  • only him can be hot as hell with a pink wig, blue eyeshadow and purple platforms

  • I'm sensing some David Bowie "Life on Mars" in this particular video...

Pity Bowie didn't want to contribute to the movie.

  • @Eugenidesful It's a mix of "Life On Mars," "Ziggy Stardust" and A Clockwork Orange. Todd Haynes is brilliant at combining influences.

  • @monkeysoulpoet And the song reminds me of 'All the Young Dudes', and references Fahrenheit 451

  • omg his eyes at 1:49 jus beautiful..made me instantly fall inlove with him..he is sooo freakin gorgeous desirable hypnotic and sexy as all hell...id do him..love this movie LOVE JRM

  • Why is JRM so attractive in this video?! He makes purple platforms, blue eyeshadow and a pink wig sexy as hell! :) I've loved this movie since I saw it when it came out, mostly because of him! (could do without the weird lizard guy in the video though, but meh)

  • i watch this and i think of two things: 1) omg i he's so sexy i want to rip his clothes off to help make this video better and 2) omg stupid jacket! get out of the way of his great ass!

  • serpent man- a woman? what the fuck am i supposed to do with this? fuck that shit, i'm going over to that thing over there.

  • They are DAVID BOWIE and IGGY POP...?

  • Jonathan and Ewan are SO beautiful in this. I have had a painful relentless crush on JRM for years.....augh.

  • own this movie love it :)

  • what are the names of the clothes i want them some one please help :)

  • MY BODY CAN'T ACCTUALLY WITHSTAND HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS IS!!!! <33

  • Oh my gosh this is the hottest movie ever, I actually wished some of the songs were longer! I think this totally topped Trainspotting.

  • Super trivia fact: The body paint scheme for the character skulking into the bedroom is based on the same one used for Roddy McDowall when he portrayed Ariel in a 1972 production of "The Tempest" produced by the legendary Joseph Papp in New York City.

  • the voice on the film sounds a little different from the sountrack

  • @pinup60 That's because in the film Jonathan Rhys Meyers is actually singing the song. This clip is from the film with his voice. On the soundtrack it's performed by Shudder to Think and it's their lead singer's voice. So sometimes you'll see this clip on youtube and it's the Shudder to Think version. I'm personally biased and prefer JRM's version. :)

  • @Jellyroll2 that explains it! thanks..

  • You will, love. You will

  • i've seen this movie about a billion times and i still love this song. i love everything about. johnathan rhys meyer is one sexy ass man. so ewan mcgregor. i love velvet goldmine. i just wish i understood it better

  • @kkhjkg Brian slade/rhys meyers is supposed to be David Bowie and Ewan/curt wild is based in Iggy Pop and Lou Reed. If you look around the net you'll find info to follow the film and all the connextions to the real story. bowie read the script and denyed his participation. The film is a charade but i love it too! Little miss knowitall ;-)

  • 0:48, the little foot pop :)

  • He has nice lips :)

  • can i ask what movie this is?

  • @fahqxbuddy it is called Velvet Goldmine.

  • I think some of the music from this film was sang by the lead singer of a band called "The Sunday Drivers" but I could be mistaken.

  • This movie is just perfect and Jonathan is yummy! Too bad they could not include Bowie's real songs.

  • Just a great performance and a beautiful song, and what a handsome boy he really is. Even those boots on him have sex appeal

  • I love this song;]

  • He's acting so good and his voice is so amazing!

  • Amazing movie

  • i'm addicted to this song too.just like a junkie

  • i really like the intro.... glade you did it.

  • i wish i was that fucking cool oh my gosh. watching from 1.12 to 1.45 over and over and over!

  • CHEVERE

  • Brian Slade is so Hot! And this song is amazing!!!

  • I'm in love with this; its my favorite song at the moment and this is my favorite video :}

    Ahh, i love Velvet Goldmine

  • Oh God, I love this moment at 0:26!

And btw... I didn't know, that Brian and Curt knew each other while making this video for this song... I thought they met later... Eh, or I didn't remember... I should watch this film again... and again, and again... because it's amazing :)

  • @tunples at 0:26 i just came and got pregnant,*le sigh*

this movie couldn't get more beautiful <3

  • He's a very beautiful man and this film is ace.

  • I saw this movie because it was inspired by David Bowie, whom I adore, and fell in love with Jonathan Rhys Myers. I'm going to get on Netflix and check out some more of his movies!

  • lol everyone at my work brought in cds to play in the salon & this is on mine.. only had one guest guess what it was from.. he's officially my favorite lol

  • The soundtrack has more songs with vocals from the singers (not actors) whereas the movie has more of the actors doing their own vocals. This song in particular, the soundtrack has the singer not JRM singing but in the movie in this song, he is singing himself. Another movie that did this mix was Queen of the Damned. In the movie, all songs were sung by Jonathan Davis from Korn whereas the soundtrack had different bands singing those same songs. Either way musical genuis (bad movie that QOTD).

  • JRM was probably the most beautiful man alive at this point. Ewan MacGregor amazing too. Bowie apparently was none too happy with the 'loose' rendition of his life.

  • Damn! I Love It.

  • I'm not going to lie, I hate his curly wig in this one.

But I love when Curt winks. xD

  • omg...JRM is sooo beautiful....

  • I just realized that Brian with long hair bears a startling resemblance to my boyfriend, named Maxwell. o_o I have to say Brian's far more fucking fabulous though!

  • Beautiful Song.. Really!!

  • simply goodness !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love that look he gives at 2:15. XD

Is the green snake man Jonathon?

  • very pretty boy , johnathan is....

  • your wrong he is charisma

  • hope you know, Maxwell Demon was only based roughly on David Bowie, he was also based on other people.

  • @iheartbuIletsx Kurt Wild is supposed to be Iggy Pop

  • Is it Jonathan singing or is it someone else?

  • This is JRM. The version they put on the CD has another singer, though.

  • yep. on the CD it's "Shudder to think"

  • I love this movie. Great actors (Christian, Jonathan and Ewan), great music (like Placebo) and so on. Everything's perfect :D and this song is amazing ;)

  • weird but good. proof that Meyers has talent. i havent seen this movie but from this video i can tell he's very convincing in the role he plays.

  • love the song and movie :^)

  • great

  • He is beautiful! I want those boots!!!!

  • i want him!!! :]

  • THIS MOVIE MAKES ME CUM

  • ROFL!

  • I WANT THOSE FUCKING CLOTHES. Give them to me right now, Mr. Meyers. Strip, or I shall have to wrestle you to the ground and do it for you, leaving you in the middle of an abnormally bright white room in naught but your skivvies. 'Tis your choice, sir.

    Lovely song.

  • @tweezersareyay I agree those duds are a might spiffy.

  • anyone know where to get an accurate tab of this song? and not that D - Bm - F#m crap-- that's not even close

  • This is the best movie ever. Great film!

  • is that really him singing? somebody said it wasn't btw i'm addicted to this clip

  • ya on some of the clips from the film he does the vocals, the soundtrack has the original singer-whom, has better range in all seriousness- but having his actual vocals adds a variety of personality to the film

  • He is a talented guy, seeing him interviewed too I like his style. Btw I'm not gay lol. I'm just saying he is a good actor.

  • JRM has a nice singing voice actually...

    special ^^

    love the movie.

  • Damn this is actually a pretty cool scene! I can't believe I still haven't seen this.

  • this songs main refrain just sounds exactly the same as the first cut is the deepest...

    well great movie anyway!

  • Eh ... not REALLY.

  • i love this song and am gonna sit down and watch the film real soon, i think the whole things on youtube. Damn I love this song, thanks for posting it

  • you're most welcome, and someone asked if it was JRM dressed up, NOPE! LOL...i can spot that perfect piece of man anywhere and i love this vid, song, movie!

  • actually is IS JRM.

  • he's not a creepy green predator or whwatever. he's the personification of Maxwell('s) Demon. This video puts love/sensuality/sex all in one! JRM moves so perfectly. here, in this "world, even the demon can be sexy. that's the idea of it i percieve.

  • wow. that's deeper than i expected. thanx!

  • what's with the creepy green sexual predator dude?

  • this movie ALWAYS makes me want to go back to my 'freak' days of crazy make-up and clothes...damn this being a grown-up!!!!!!

  • love

  • Love love love this film and the Maxwell Demon video is gorgeous! BUT....did they make vids like that in the early 70s? I thought Bohemian Rhapsody in 1975 was the first elaborate music video and that had NOTHING on this Maxwell Demon vid. It looks very 90s.

  • Well, Maxwell Daemon (or Brian Slade) was supposed to be like David Bowie, and a few of David Bowie's videos have a similar(ish) feel to this one.

But obviously, this is a lot more advanced, as the movie was made in the 90s and it probably wouldn't have fared well to have a relatively dull music video in the middle of the film.

  • ha! i just went into block buster to rent this movie. . . the lady at the counter just looked at me and said "um we don't rent out cult movies" !!! that nearly killed me!!

  • does she say " You're in love "

    in the beginning ?

  • "Wish i'd thought of it..."

    "You will love. You will."

  • i love this song plus jrm is so hot. I've only seen this movie once. I can't find it anywhere.

  • HMV £7

  • i love the song!

    jrm is so sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm confused, I know there were some songs JRM sang for the movie, but not on the soundtrack. Is this the Shudder to Think version, or JRM?

  • It's JRM

  • his voice is better than the Original...

  • Yeah I love this version :D

  • So, is that JRM in the green glitter as Maxwell Demon?

  • yep, he is...

love this video, love this movie, love Todd Haynes...

  • who's todd haynes ?

  • the genius who directed this movie, as well as other brilliant movies like Far From Heaven and I'm Not There :)

  • I'm obsessed with this song +_+

  • JRM is sooo sexy, I can't get enough yum-yum.

  • love the video!

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
