anyway, he taught me basic hammer ons and the power chords.

they broke up and i had no one to teach me more.

I'd recommend getting lessons locally. Probably cheaper and you get 1 on 1 experience and your teacher will know what you are doing wrong... if you are doing something wrong :P.

your mom wont pay for lessons, the only way I was allowed to get a guitar was if I took lessons first, but I insisted that I didnt need them countlessly until I reached an agreement that I didnt need them, and I can cover a lot of challenging songs. If you want to learn how to play the guitar the best deal is to watch online free videos because lessons arent worth the money.
