Wow,- this is one of the best performances I have seen in a long time...... honest, fair, deeply felt and rich. Fracis Dunnery is a master. I did know that he is the best ever Peter Gabriel cover singer in the world. His Gabriel song is just amazing. I wish I had a chance to meet Francis and see him do a great job like that. Francis,- you are the world.......
He sound like Peter Gabriel here, I want the old it bites to rise from the ashes... They were YEARS ahead of their timeand in the 80's they sounded how Gensis should have sounded, had they kept an original line up and moved with the times.
there seems to be a magic of francis he is totally unique,ok jb does a good job of keeping the ib machine rolling, but the main man along with the guys at that time was indeed francis....sad but true it was a rare time that we all shared..the raw it bites with francis making the statement.
i will always love it bites but deep down it was francis all the way that we miss, a one of never to be replaced. his voice, feeling, passion and integrety made the band. miss you dearly mr dunnery x
what a true genius, the passion in frank encapsulates such emotion, a time we shared with frank ex it bites, but to me frank will always be it bites.... its not the same no more...miss my frankie... miss the song castles..... and ill meet you in the spring.... what a top guy.... always a fan of the dunnery... x
Listen to THE TALL SHIPS. John Beck was always the mover and shaker behind It Bites and still is. Frank did a great job and left when they were at their most popular. He has a nerve to get mileage out of Kiss like Judas, but therein lies a apt acknowledgement of his IB days.
Good luck to the guy but he wasn't difficult to replace. Tall Ships is pure IB.
Why is this one of your faves when you seem so offended by it?
FD has exactly the same right to play the back catalogue as either of the four originals.Love Tall Ships btw, but there wasn't a new IB until JM brought his creative input. So JB as the "mover and shaker" is debateable. 20 years to replace Francis.. easy? Having seen JM in concert I appreciate his talent and applaud him for bringing back IB, but he could never replace the talent and charismatic personality that make FD unique!
I don't think FD was ever more to IB than an ego just waiting for the right time to leave. This loop shows a piss poor vocalist trying to do KLJ in exactly the way it wasn't meant to be performed. The current IB has recaptured the excitement of the original group perfectly - and that's down to Beck.
IB haven't been a going concern in years for many reasons, but when they decided to give it another try they found a man who can sing as well as FD and play a lot less bum notes.
Frank has now immersed himself in inane, silly lyrics but he seems to like them! What was that line in "Too Much Saturn" about shaving his head and using Bodyshop conditioner!?!?!
Have to agree to disagree. After hearing JM sing with IB last week it was obvious to me that FD has a far greater range vocally. Many people feel that Fd's lyrics being far from inane, speak to them on a personal level, and that is a gift. Having hosted a house concert I have witnessed people with no previous experience of IB or FD completely moved and inspired by his honesty and self awareness (and obvious talent!) Technical musos rarely make mistakes. True artists don't fear mistakes.
also was there at the intro gig in 87 at the nelson mandella buildings in sheffield one sunday night... he blew my fucking mind with his talent... been a fan ever since.
I was lucky enough to be at Summergrove for this amazing experience. Thank you Francis for a fantastic weekend surrounded by your many friends and family. Steve Farrell
im in tears over this.... god damn frank you set the paradigm and the rest follows your path.. you are the one and only truely it bites.. the rest of the guys you left only follow thw the name of it bites. god i bet you had a gas in peckham in your early days... i envy your past. and i love you. i even had a quartz grey kit like bobs..lol . iam ilove with you. love your songs dude. respect always.
Been a fan for over ten years and saw this bloke at Bilston in October, I have to say, he is just the best, he keeps getting better and better in my opinion, he was amazing when I saw him but I am a little envious of the people who saw this..wow..I would love to have been in this room, keep it up Frank, and thank you for posting this and sharing it.
