I changed for the same reason. I'm a junior, used to get into a lot of trouble until a few months ago. My friend I've known since like 4th grade was arrested for grand theft auto and a bunch of other shit. Drug charges, assault, etc. His family's completely ruined now, his dads in jail for life for murder at a bar fight, his mom's on drugs and he's in jail for whatever amount of time. His sister is in a foster home because his mom lost custody of her because of her drug use.
