Compared to Movies like the Water Boy with Adam Sandler, I found this movie to be authentic!!!
I am from southwest Louisiana and am a true coonass. I talk like dat also. I thought they nail the cajun culture. This was the best Louisiana movie ive seen so far. Passion Fish was pretty good also.
Compared to stupid movies like the Water Boy with Adam Sandler, This movie was a breath of fresh air. I found that the accents were not that bad compared to water boy!!!! I am from southwest La and i speak dat way also and have family that actually live that way ! I find it refreshing to have our culture repesented in this manner and not make us all out to be stupid hicks!!!

This is a horrible depiction of Cajun lifestyle!! We don't all sound like a bunch of illiterate dumbasses like the people in the movie! Please, if you're thinking about watching a movie that depicts authentic Cajun lifestyle, this is the last movie you want to see!
no we dont all sound like that BUT in defense you go backwoods south enough and there are people who LIVE like this and talk like this. This was a good movie, i did not care for the ending, but it was well written and i enjoyed it. AND i did not think anyone sounded like a dumb ass, are you saying because people have accents and speak a little different than the norm they are dumb asses?
i didnt say the accent was authentic, what i said was that there are people WHO do indeed live that way and sound like (notice i said like) it. AND you know i dont know where you live, but some of those people were living pretty high compaired to some of the "authentic" living i have seen.
and in my OPINION there is no TRUE Cajun accent which is what make the Cajun accent so unique. EVERY Cajun sounds different and says things different. There is a south Louisiana accent, but i have yet to run into anyone who speaks the dialect the EXACT same way or sound the same way.
Tamara was amazing in this movie! I recommend everyone to see this movie! This movie was truly mind blowing and amazing! You will definitely feel glad that you seen this movie!
i really enjoyed it, i did not care for the ending but it was a good movie, and being from that great state i loved the accent and the cajun part of it!

I love the fact that one of our local great zydeco bands is in this movie...Zydecane. A great sound to the movie!!!

It's a good story, I just don't care for the fake Cajun accents and the misrepresentation of authentic Cajun living.

It is really clean. The violence is mild. The movie is more like a PG 13 movie. It is really a good film!
