I'm not gay but these guys are the perfect example of how gay people should be. They don't pretend and they are genuine.
So what they are gay? They are extremely warm and nice people. With 10 great advices. I just had to favorite this the fraction second #1 rolled off. Made me laugh.
I not only wish all gay people behaved like them, I wish every human being behaved like them. Kudos to you both. Certainly the type of people I want to have a beer with.
Can you tell us exactly what you study in la school? I'm going there next year getting nervous about what's waiting for me... I live in france so the system might be different but globally what do you study?
@OurBump You should look for a course catalog on the website of the school you're applying to. Things like torts, contracts, civil and criminal procedure will be studied in law school.
Note: I'm not in law school however I'm in an applied legal studies undergraduate program and should be in law school within 2 years.
You guys are such an inspiration to me! You seem so calm and relaxed with an air of wisdom and knowledge! Godd job, Law school is coming for me in the next few years.
1:Debts,if you don't have someone to pay for you, forget about Law,debt will make you a Banker's sex slave for 30 years on end.
2:Sorry to break it to ya,but School rankings matter,if you DON'T plan on joining a T14 Law school (+ McGill and a few others),FORGET ABOUT LAW.
3:If you're in for the money and expect a high paying job straight out,FORGET ABOUT LAW,you need interest to pursue this field and make the big bucks.
@VeritasTruthEmet Top 14 Schools, these schools have the highest placement rate,in fact, even the guy in the bottom 20% of the class will STILL find a job because he was in a Prestigious University.
McGill is also the number 1 Canadian University and American Law Firms love them.(I know 7 of my friends who were in McGill law that got in BigLaw at NYC straight out.)
@WarrenAch we know McGill is the shit. However, there is much more opportunity here in Canada than in the USA. The dual degree for code civil du quebec and common law is best used within this country. I don't see the advantage of New York over Toronto.
@WarrenAch also, essentially all Canadian law schools have extremely high standards. This is especially evident when our few schools are compared with the hundreds of American schools. All law schools in Canada are quite respected and all of our schools are extremely competitive. I am pretending Windsor does not exist, its the Cooley of Canada.
As long as you don't get into Moncton Faculty of Law,you have very good chances to land up a great job straight out.
I live in Montreal and i have the chance to be a "CEGEP Candidate" for McGill Law School, which is easier than University applicants and tuition will cost only 3500$/year ! NO DEBT !
If i change my mind about Medicine,i'll definitely pick up that opportunity and join McGill.
@WarrenAch yeah one of the brothers in my Frat went straight from Marianopolis (sp) into McGill Law beating the rest of us to it by several years. I have no idea to this day what an "R score" is since I came to McGill from outside of Quebec but I think he had an R30.... its supposedly quite rare. Since you already know how awesome la ville du montreal is I dont even have to try to explain why there is no better place to be a student. I LOVE montreal! How could anyone not love the nightlife?
@VeritasTruthEmet Actually, entering McGill Law from CEGEP requires a R34 on average (90%-95% cummulative grades.)
Moncton and UQAM are known to be the WORST Universities for Law,i know a UQAM grad who graduated in 2008,still looking for a job,he's now switching to Administration jobs.
No,you don't need to be brilliant to enter McGill Med or Law,just the discipline to get good grades as your GPA will grant you the Interview and from there, yourself only will decide what will happen...
@WarrenAch I swear I had no idea moncton had a university.... I just looked up the rankings and apparently UQAM has a bloody faculte d droit too? I had no idea. I'm going to stop bashing Windsor now that UQAM is playing ball. hahaha a UQAM degree. That's a shock.
@WarrenAch McGill med is the best in Canada also. However, you will have your own human corpse to cut apart (its very morbid). There is NO way I could ever handle that. Plus, I am not trekking my way from the bloody Ghetto up the hill way past McTavish to Maconnel. It just aint worth the frost bite to visit a cadaver. Gross. lol. But for real, if you get into McGill med you are brilliant.
Great advice guys. One other point that I would highlight is staying on top of your outlines. I chuckle when I observe my classmates constructing outlines days before finals. Although I tend to have long outlines, I take comfort in knowing everything that the prof discussed is included. It's easier to pare material, as opposed to adding feverishly as you draw close to an exam.
The only part of this I disagree with is I do not think you should wait until the end of the year to do outlines. When I was in law school, I did my outlines every Friday and Saturday after that week's classes. It took a great deal of stress off my shoulders and I was learning the information at a more natural pace.
When it time to study for classes, I found I was able to spot issues in past exams without referring to the outlines as much as some of the people in my "study group."
I really dig this video. I just received my acceptance letter for law school next semester, and.... well, I'm extremely excited and terrified at the same time. This video gave me a bit of much appreciated insight into the first year. Thanks!
Okay, this is good advice if you have time to follow it. I was an evening student working a full time job with 2 kids under 2, there was no time to read at all, let alone not fall behind. You can coast if you need to, if you're not in the top 10% forget about a dream job and just try to graduate.
ty for the advice! I've just finished my first term of law school and unfortunately I fell behind on the reading! Looks like I gotta lotof catching up reading to do over these christmas holidays...
Even if it's the summer, you'll still have to prepare for next year, which means, you won't have ALL the summer to enjoy WoW,especially in Law and Medical Schools.
The best way to score a higher in the LSAT is,study for it,deal with stress,if you feel bored and tired while studying, buy a redbull...it's made for students anyway,no sports. You can Major in pretty much anything before law school, but you must have GOOD grades, most of people who go to law school majored in psychology, sciences, lots of other programs....but i don't know if this system works where you live,so just ask in your city...
I have a question, how was your experience in the fist years???Did you had a social "life" or you needed to study 24/7 ???was it easy to deal with stress ???
sorry for these questions but i wanna join law school soon, also,i heard its a scam, and there is lots of unemployment,is that true ???,another question, how much a lawyer gets a year when he starts and after like 5-10 years ???,so if my questions are dumb but im very curious about what is coming for me...lol
My advice is not to worry too much about making an outline. And if you must outline, keep it SHORT: only about 15 pages or so of the TOP TEN most important topics covered in class because there's no way a teacher can fit 90 pages of outline into a three hour exam. If a professor allows people to record their lectures, then do it, but when in doubt, don't.
My point is that it's NOT helpful. It's just inane common sense drivel dressed up in a cutesy way to make it appear novel. But thanks for playing anyway.
Well, as it appears that others have found it helpful, I suppose I'll take you as the anomaly. However, I don't believe we stated that this was "advice you'll never figure out on your own." My advice is not to worry too much about making an outline. And if you must outline, keep it SHORT: only about 15 pages or so of the TOP TEN most important topics covered in class because there's no way a teacher can fit 90 pages of outline into a three hour exam. Also, take COPIOUS NOTES with the rules, the reasoning behind the rules, and any other "golden nuggets" the teacher may emphasize. Remember, your NOTES can serve as an outline. Also, SUPPLEMENTS will help with class and finals.
