a highly impressive display of cnc machining-im an operator myself and was pleased to see that the demonstration was performed with utmost health and safety in mind. we need more videos like this putting on you tube to embarrass the rough shod engineers of today who try penny pinching and putting others at risk.. well done.
Tell you what, You stand there and videotape this clip and I'll run the coolant for you. It's a freakin demo. I wasn't concerned about tool wear or thermal expansion. I didn't feel like getting a shower.
pretty cool. i made an object similar to this, but it wasnt a candle stick, i made a chalice out of a brass compound, cant remember the exact metal, but the end result left it sparkling like gold. i then engraved mine and my girlfriend initials on the side and gave it to her on our anniversary!.............im single now

you should be roughing at 0.3 feed and finishing at about 0.1 with a single 0.4 mm cut why do it all in 1 op?

This was done as a demo of CNC capabilities. Not for efficiency purposes. The machine has the power to handle a
.200" depth of cut at .010" inches per revolution running 1200 sfpm in 6061-t6 aluminum.

Thank you. Anybody thats ever been around these machines would know you would get an instant shower trying to videotape this with the coolant on.

I understand it.
I just wanted to know why because, I learned that you always had to use Coolant. Sorry I if sounded rude or angry.
