it must be hard. i love cats and now i have 6 cats; they were all street cats. the oldest one is 11 yrs old, i know they will leave me one day and i think that we're having a good time together, that will be enough:-) your boy friend can adopt another cat and give that cat a good life:-)

@jessaminelu aww, I guess that's the slight disadvantage of getting a pet, if anything happens to them its an awful heartbreak... he's thinking about getting a dog someday, not right away though cause he doesn't feel ready to get a new pet yet.. but whenever he is, he's gonna check out the animal shelter for one :)

you're right. the most difficult part of having a pet is that their life is shorter than humans, so you might have to face the day they leave you. i had an English sheep dog before but she died from a car accident and i was heartbroken. i decided not to have dogs as pets cz dogs need more room and i live in an apartment in Taiwan; there's not much room here and dogs are more attached to their owners and that makes it harder if something haapens to the dog :-(

i think there are many different colors and patterns of cats, doudou is a black and white mixed cat :-) i've heard someone called this kind of cat a "batman" cat,cz they are like wearing a batman mask :-)
