The only thing Six Samurai lost is the ability to gain "overwhelming resources" from Gateway. That was really the only thing they needed to lose, since now they're beatable.
I think that the loss of two Kaluts is too much for Blackwings to effectively deal with. It, combined with Icarus Attack, made any play you make a lose-lose situation. Without Kalut, Blackwings lose out to back row removal and Cyber Dragon.
I don't think that Junk Doppel will be very successful here. In the OCG, it's competitive mainly due to the draw power provided by T.G. Hyper Librarian. Without that, it's just a Junk and Debris variant.
Gravekeeper's will continue to do well because they still have Royal Tribute, and people will continue to play Graveyard-dependent decks.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention X-Sabers, since they lost almost nothing to the list and don't have to worry about Book of Moon anymore.
@LightGrunty Cold Wave is the reason I left Sabers out of the mix for tier 1. I felt blackwings would do well this format regardless. Hyper Liberian is essential for the junk and debris deck, I realize that now. These were prediction and the video was created on the 22nd. In these 3 days I have playtested all kinds of builds for Tier 1 and 2 decks we have now, at this point I feel comfortable enough to make a new video calling out the solid Tier 1 and 2 decks this format. New video soon.
X-Sabers still have triple Trap Stun. The only reason Trap Stun became unpopular was because of Book of Moon, so now X-Sabers can use Trap Stun as they would have used Cold Wave. The only problem with that is that Necrovalley still messes them up.
@LightGrunty Very True. Its too bad blackwings took such a hit, in my opinion too early. Blackwings was the poor mans Sams and Sabers. Gravekeepers have taken that spot now, and until July we wont see another dominating tier 1 deck. Its clear the coporate call Konami took with this list and getting pretty tired of it every 6 months. I also have a video talking about this some time this week. My luck goes out for the Tier 2 Combo players instead of the Tier 1 Toolbox players this format.
@yugiohkiller999 I think your right, however, feel they will simply fall to tier 2. 2 Kaluts gone hurt the protection really bad,not having blackwing zephyros the elite yet cant make up for it. Sam will have the speed. BWs had the protection for it. looks like Sabers and Gravekeepers are Sams Tier 1 contenders.
no offence dude but black wings are death. without kalut x 3 they wont be tier 1 but max tier 2.
They could get away with pot of duality just because they could protect they're asses with icarus or kalut.
ANd not to forget they had they're power from kalut because thx to him shura was stronger and they could make the sets and plays they wanted.
Black feather are as death as infirnity's ^^ easy as that ^^
