I love this dark ending, with Blair taking Tolwyn's place... the price of freedom?

Game creators prattle on today about "choice and consequence" in their games, but old games like WC4 and Jedi Knight 2 did it a long time ago, and very well too... in some cases better, IMO.

No he sent in a carrier. and had the Dragons (the fighters the black lance used) preform overflights. Basicly it's like today if there is a hotspot anywhere in the world you send in a carrier. Kinda the international diplomatic way of saying. "hey do you mind keeping down and dude no one likes a jackass"

You get two opportunities to defect, if you refuse to do it both times you get this. It makes the game significantly shorter, also.

No, this is a winning ending, which you get if you won the debate with Tolwyn at the end. This ending is given if you sided with Hawk more than with Panther. (In particular: chose to pick up weapons in Speradon instead of saving civilians in Circe, and Flash-Pakking the Ella superbase instead of running past it.) Siding with Panther gives you the best (flight instructor) ending.

I got this the first time I played through with my roommate in college. It was his game. He was SO SHOCKED! I had decided I needed weapons and the SUPERBASE had to be flash-packed (that made his jaw drop). Hey, it was WAR!

I later played again...and got the nicer ending. After all, I didn't really want to let Catscratch die.

Also... earlier... Catscratch listened to Maniac, big mistake, and now a shipment of weapons is at stake. You cannot fight a war without weapons. What's one more life, of a rookie, against a shipment of weapons.

Those two things...that'll get you the DARK ENDING.

Blair is better than Tolwyn because he did what was REALLY needed to be done to prevent war.

Tolwyn, on the other hand, was actively seeking to provoke a war by lies, deceipt and forgery, between the border worlds and the confederation.
