No, their so similar because Shaun is a little Nirvana fan boy and wants to be like Kurt. Look at everything! The body with wings, the baby dolls on his mic (he tries to be strang, punk, different like Kurt), the hair, the covers, the unplugged performances, they way he says he doesn't want to be part of rock history, its clear he acts and wants to be like Kurt. Inspiration is fine, but being horribly unoriginal is hideous.

To me, Shaun is far better than Kurt ever was. Before you flame, I do acknowledge that Nirvana were brilliant and pioneered the grunge movement. However, just because of that, and Kurt's ridiculous 'martyr' status (he was a drug addict and he killed himself- it happens everyday people, don't glorify it), does not mean that Nirvana and Cobain have some unreachable height as gods... I think Shaun packs so much more raw emotion, feeling and catchy technical skill into his music than Nirvana ever could. So stop whining and spamming these videos with bullshit 'OMG SHAUN IS LIEK KURT BUT WORSE COS KURT IS GOD LOL' comments, because they're just a load of crap.

Seether rocks, Nirvana rocks, but Kurt can; and has been; surpassed. In my opinion anyway.

@nsberrow: I've never understood why some people say Slipknot sounds like Korn. Sure, Korn started Nu Metal, and Slipknot is Nu Metal. That doesn't mean they're a rip off of Korn. Corey's vocal style is completely different than Jon's, Joey's drumming is pretty much the exact opposite of David's, Paul plays bass with a pick and pretty much machine guns it through every song, while Fieldy plays slap... The only thing thats similar between Korn and Slipknot is that they both use low tunings.

look ill put an end to all of the Shaun/Kurt debates. this may sound far fetched but hear me out this is a classic case of spirit travel Kurt was sent to give us a certain vibe he was killed and did not get a chance to complete what he was sent to do his spirit was sent back through Shaun to fulfill that's why they seem so similar its not the sound that triggers the comparison.its the vibe this will make sense in due time .the same case with SRV and Hendrix.

he wasn't this energetic when I saw him :(. He was actually quite reminiscent of Kurt Cobain when I saw him. Very quiet, hair over face not talking to the audience except at the end where he thanked a couple of people holding up a SA flag.
