Just got thru watching this film on Netflix and I must say it was freaking Epic... Well worth the watch and u won't be disappointed I can assure you. Lisa G is on the soundtrack as well nough said.

This is not a remake but rather a spin off of the Zatoichi series. The main character Ichi is supposed to be the student of the original Zatoichi.

This was a good movie. I found it on Netflix on the Watch Instantly and thought it would be good to watch, and it was!!!

OH my gosh... The scene where she's lying there, towards the end, and you hear her heartbeats thumping away. And then there's silence, and then those flashes of his face, like she'd coming back to life, and the bell ringing. And then all the sound comes back again. That was, AMAZING. It totally blew me away.

I just saw it. It wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't as good as kitano's Zatoichi. Though I don't mean to compare but zatoichi is one of the most treasured stories in the Samurai genre and this film had a lot to live up to. Though I did not think it was as good as the other zatoichi's, I would still add this film to my collection of my other samurai films.

Ayase has decent acting chops and is attractive without the Harajuki girl phony look common these days, but the slow mo fight scenes were shot in a manner to cover up her lack of swordplay.

I've seen good Japanese Period films but this wasn't one of them. Marred by low production values, hammy acting and bad costumes.

Worth a watch but could have been so much better.

This was one of the best movies i saw at the San Diego Asian Film Festival. Dad was Zatoichi & he well trained the little beauty. Her looks are as gorgeous as the filming, a high-end film, funny/sad/action/visuals. A high point in this festival.

just stumbbled across this zatoichi.... lol what they hell.. lol, im gonna have to watch it regaurdless... but im a shintaro fan all the way.. you should look for the band Vainglory California's song dedicated to katsu's zatoichi.

SHintaro KAtsu is FOREVER the ONLY 1 Zatoichi!! others are copies but still any thing that is about zatoichi i'll put 2 thumbs up!!! still hes the original for you who dont know about shintaro katsu try and find the original zatoichi movies and watch it,,he plays blind better then blind people!!

I'm with you there. Azumi was alright but nothing spectacular. Japan have really bad action movies unless Ryuuhei Kitamura directs them, and even then they can be hit and miss.

I was about to say that too. Azumi was lame and over-hyped. Even i thought it was going to be decent. But this might be interesting, Its a girl Zatoichi. They need to do an all girl Enter the dragon movie. I've been wanting to see that for a while
