If you fold a 20$ bill correctly (look on net) it shows a likeness of the twin towers, and on the flip side the likeness of the burning pentagon, the topper is on the "wings" of the bill shows "American" and "United"...the SAME two planes that were used to topple the towers. It also resembles the free masons symbol, because, actually, that's what the Hashashin were ( or are ;) ). The free masons symbol actually resembles the Hashashin's symbol very very much. Also the all-seeing eye at the top of the pyramid is part of the symbolics. Hope this was a clear answer ;)

@JanWelling2 My guess is that the Assassin Symbol stands for the 'A' of Assassin's ( although it's originally 'Hashashin' and the round form at the bottom represtents the Apple of Eden. It might also represent the hidden blade, I'm really not certain about all this.

@xCarliniii Actually, the "ring" is what they(assassins) need to activate their hidden blade, its like a switch. when they move it a certain way, it activates the blade so it goes up. thats why in assassin's creed 1, altair didnt have a ring finger, because they fitted the mechanism and it required the sacrifice of the finger, but in ac2, it was moddified so they can keep it.

@Flyman619 the ring has a string running from itself to a trigger on the blade that releases a lock that holds the spring tight. when he pulls is hand out the trigger is released and the blade shoots out. im not sure how the closing mechanism works but im sure it relies on a wheel lock system. btw im not disagreeing with you just expanding upon your statement to provide further clarity for readers.

@1993Conner Well, that's what they tell the people, to make the game look more realistic. But if you take a closer look in the game itself, Ezio doesn't have a ring. The only ring Ezio does get to wear is a burning mark from his assassin's clan ritual at the top of a tower in Venice. But you're right, that is how the mechanism would have worked, or maybe actually worked, in the past, in times where people weren't discussing this subject but where they could feel it themselves ;)
