  • today is the 20th anniversary, March 18, 2010, R.I.P. Robin.

  • He did the show that night and died in his hotel room later that night. Yes bernie took a few of his jokes....

  • I remember the night he died. He was suppose to do the show at the New Regal Theather in Chicago, (Three blocks from my house). I still tell the joke about the Spare change.

  • gone to soon real king of comedy

    R.I.P.

  • "Is your hair so short, you can smell ya' brain? HA!! Well come on down to the Weave King!!!"

    - Robin Harris

    R.I.P

  • I'm still trynna' find that Robert Townsend Comedy special I think it was on HBO back in "91" or "92". It had the some of the funniest comedy skits I've ever seen. Somebody's GOTTA" know what I'm talking about. Robin Harris had the funniest skit on the show! We've all heard of a CAR dealership......Well he had the WEVE dealership, called "Weave King"

LOL! He had that damn cowboy getup, selling the "pony weave" "Homeboy Weave" And for a limmited time only, we got the poodle weave!" Hahaha!!!

  • Hollywood shuffle

  • @ILOVECATFISH2MUCH HAHAH ME too! I love that skit. I was about 17..maaaan... that shit is priceless...

  • Robin Harris 4EVER!!

  • There are so many greats, but I believe he would have surpassed them all. His whole persona was funny. He wasnt TRYING to be funny...he just was. All of his stand ups were hilarious but the funniest stuff was the stuff in the the right thing sittin on that corner talking bout "F&*K Mike Tyson, I member when he mug that woman over there on lexington & if Mike tyson dream about whoopin my ass he better wake up & appologize. they having the best comedy shows in heaven w/ him, Richard & Red Foxx!!!

  • We Don't Die, We Multiply...R.I.P Robin Harris.

  • me too, I toe up that cassette ...

  • He was definatly a great....miss you Robin..

  • Man, loved Death Penalty/"gotta go, gotta go!"

  • Bernie Mac before Berine Mac

He was in I am gonna get you sucka, Do the right thing, Mo Better Blues, House Party.

  • Wednesday nights at the Comedy Act Theatre off Crenshaw in L.A. What a night!

We went to see ALL the comedians but we ALL went to see Robin Harris. During his show he told me "Look at him. Put the light on his ass. How ya doing there brother, uh bro-ham. Sitting there in that Ritchie Cunninghan sweater". I laffed so hard I spit out my drink.

  • Robin Harris, Darryl Sivad, another comic and I used to play bars in South Central. Robin called it his "Chitlin Circuit". He was the first to put money in my hand for my standup. I miss those Wednesday nights at 43rd & Crenshaw. They were special. I was the only white regular. Mark Whalen (Robin called me half a bottle of Pepto Bismo)

  • Yeah that Robin Harris cassette was something nice! My favorite part was the Spare Change joke, "Get your ass a spare job, and then you will have some spare change"... "Brotherman, Brotherman, Brotherman"...lol

  • robin harris forever he was the best R.I.P

  • Definitely one of the best to EVER do it!

  • I will alway love you Robin lovie

  • Amazing comic, my friends and I wore our Robin Harris cassette out as teens, and to this day we still quote it! Gotta Go! Gotta Go!

  • Yep, my all-time favorite stand-up comedian. The "Be-Be Kids" CD/cassette is a classic that never gets old. It was a touring tradition for my old band. I've never laughed so hard. So many have bitten his style. R.I.P. "I'm gonna do the RIGHT thang!"

  • Happy 54th Birthday Mr. Harris.

  • In high school, my friends and I used to laugh our asses off at "BeBe's Kid's"-his only comedy album.

  • We did too!!! We used to sit in 3rd hour, I had this little tape recorder. We would turn the volume down so the teacher couldn't hear and we would huddle up and listen and crack up. Robin Harris had so much potential. It's a shame he left when he did.

  • Yo, I miss that man like I knew him!! I love ya Robin!!!!!

  • can't WAIT for this movie

one of my greatest memories in life was listening to my friend's Bebe's Kids cassette for the first time in 1989 as a teen and crying uncontrollably from laughter.

  • He was a genius!

  • I remember when I first saw his HBO special, I spent the next month just screaming "SMALL WORLD" to everyone I knew. Drove them crazy. I love Robin Harris. RIP

  • First saw Robin in House party.. brilliant comedian sadly missed :-C

  • So...anyone have Bebe's Kids?

  • Robin's routine of Bebe'sKids is in the movie---Topper Carew

  • This man was funny without being funny. He was truely a natural.

  • Robin was not only the greatest natural comedian, but he was also with and for the people!

  • R.I.P. Robin Harris & Richard Pryor

  • Thanks for viewing our video---we agree.... -Topper Carew

  • On of the only comedians that I've ever seen that could make everyone laugh without even saying the punchline. Everybody could relate to him and knew exactly what he was feeling at any given moment. Gone much too soon.

  • He and Richard Pryor are probably playing the dozens right now.

  • one of the most talanted that died too soon
