I have the ps3 version (don't know how it differs from the ps2 version...) when I press select, I get a page that says what I need to do next, and I will turn the page and it will tell me if I need to get the Calypso piece and how many special items I have. The bonus objectives don't show up unless I find it...

PS3 version is very much different, so I can't really help with finding bonus objectives for that, sorry.

I think I saw a Xbox 360 guide somewhere on the internet (might have been Gamefaqs). If the Xbox 360 version is at all similiar, the guide might help you.

I have completed the game and almost have all the Jackanisms. Although, I tried to replay a level to look for bonus challenges, but couldn't find any, and I know there were some on that level...do you know of any websites that can help?

Nope, sorry. Guides for this game are pretty scarce right now and might be for some time. You can hit select (on the PS2 version) to get a list of objectives, items you have and your bonus objectives.

how do you get all the characters in multiplayer?

The same way you get them for single-player = unlock then. Complete story levels and the bonus challenges for each completed level (as well as complete the bonus objectives in the story levels and Jackanisms)
