Imagine my sursprise when I got the police report and find he had NOT been charged for anything. 2 Months later I am served by a sheriff for a personal injury lawsuit for the man who hit me! Thank god, my insurance company arranged for a investigation where I proved their was NO way I was at fault. They stood by me for the 6 years that it took to come to court. The plaintiff moved to North Carolina in the meantime and refused to return for the court case, so it was dismissed.

The person that hit me was drunk, no insurance and was driving with suspended license. He was african american as was the police officer who responded. After taking my statement, the officer told me I could go and pick up a report in 48 hours. I ASSUMED he was going to arrest the other man who was unable to stand up as he was so drunk.
