  • The z28 Camaro makes 356hp 360ftlbs trq and only weighs 3402 and the SS makes 426hp 420ftlbs trq and weighs 3876 I own a 2000 Z28 and my dad owns a 2010 SS Camaro that's what the weight is on both titles and me and dad raced each other I was pulling off of him but he was staying with me but do a dead stop take off the SS is going to win cause the SS will have better take off trust me me and my dad tried that many times he wins every time. Oh by the way there both bone stock

  • Comment removed

  • 2 people not much diff maybe 250lbs and if its a new camaro its running 100hp more maybe even a little higher, so either you dont know how to drive or its a six slinger

  • ROLL UP THE FUCKING WINDOW!!

  • Atleast it wasn't a Ford, or worse yet a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth.

  • Both cars are LSX powerd and are great cars who cares who wins go out there and kick mustang ass like you were born to do.

  • I have a 99 Trans Am, stock. 98-02 Trans Ams and z28s are not slow. If you know how to drive them, they are just as fast as the new ones unless you are a performance driving professional and the 100th of a second really matters. The new ones are really nice, but they are way over priced and buying one new is a waste of money when you can get a 4th gen 98-02 and get T-Tops.

  • the new camaros are not impressive at all. they have 100 more crank hp than the f-body SS and WS6 yet they only run the 1/4 mile a tenth faster. GM had a chance to make an awesome car,but instead they made a high horsepower fatass like the challenger. Ford is the only company to get the new-age muscle car right. and this is coming from a vette owner...

  • Camaro vs. Camaro. I love them both. I just can't complain about it. It's a win win situation in my opinion.

  • I think the camaro won

  • what kind of rims is that on the 4 gen?? looks great

  • Obviously the 2001 is modded.

  • Camaro ss 2010 is faster than 2002 camaro by half a second on average. A modded 2002 camaro will definetly keep up and beat a stock 2010 ss.

  • 2010 Camaro = Titanic . 2001 Camaro= Canoe. Some LS1 Z28/SS/WS6 are complete factory freaks aka running 13.0's and very very rarely 12.9's (Possibly on radials.) However, those numbers are by the handful. Average driver usually hits 13.3 and 13.5's . 2010 Camaro is just more modern and comfortable to drive.. Possibly better looking too loll.

  • I have a 01 SS 6 speed LS1 with CAI,SLP LM2,SLP Y-PIPE,PREDATOR TUNER nothing crazy... I've fucked with a 2010 and those fuckers are quick from a roll or dead stop...but I still think a 4th gen is nicer LOL don't get me wrong an LS1 can hang Fo-sho but needs heads and cam to win consistently...I could be wrong I'm no master mechanic haha just like camaros

  • Some of you are fucking ignorant yes an ls3 is greater than an ls1... But theres a little thing called power weight ratio you need to learn about.. Ill give you a hint the f-body is a bit faster. Trust me.

  • the wheels on that 4th gen are dope as fuck!

  • You just cant beat a 4th gen...

  • Thats a beautiful camaro. nice to see some people take care of there F-Bodys. most of them i see now are beat to shit

  • Stock to stock this matchup can be a drivers race .. If you want to underestimate the 4th gen then be my guest jus means more kills for me >:)

  • Stock for stock, the 01 and the 10 ought to be pretty close, especially with the '10's additional people inside. So with both cars decently modded, it still makes sense for both cars to have a very close rolling drag. Awesome cars, both :)

  • It's all about the 4th gen and that 2010 just got smoked!!!!! No excuses!!!!

  • Just got smoked

  • The 5th generation is faster than the 4th generation stock for stock. This 4th generation must be modified.

  • @Quatermain98526 The point is your stuped the 2010 camaro is faster then the z28 as of that day we where 3 ppl in the car we lost 4 sec of speed as if the z28 was one person now u get it the z28 had header cheap 99cent intake and cams

  • @gypsynitro

Z28 had "cams" huh? Kind of impossible considering the LS motors are single cam OHV.

The '01 did most likely have full length headers to pull like that.

  • @gypsynitro I have the ss new and the 2001 z28 and I can say the 2001 is fast with less hp you have the reason, but ss new vs z28 2001 the difference is not too much... the aero style of the 2001 is better than.. I think the aero help a lot

  • anyway, the new ss transformer edition is great I love it, 2001 z28 nice car sound great,,, but I hate work in the engine... no space available.. haha

  • and remember, 0 to 90 or 100 mph the 01 won easy but over 100 the new is great, I think the trans is better and the rear axle ratio is low

  • @gypsynitro you really bashing the f-body because you lost to a camaro made 9 years earlier than yours? 99 cent intake? get real punk ass. i doubt the camaro you're in is even yours because if it was you would know how much potential the gm ls series engines have, no matter if it's an ls1, ls9, or anything in between. all it takes is the right cam, heads and a few other bolt-ons for these engines to really show their true power. take your ignorance elsewhere and get a fucking attitude adjustment

  • @scarface115 dude im like 13 i dont know much about cars i dont even know how a supercharger stop worring about attitude

  • @gypsynitro ah i see, that would explain the poor sentence structure, poor spelling, and lack of knowledge about cars...at least you admit that last point.

  • Respond to this video... how it works

  • @Quatermain98526 Nope, ive never lost to a 2010 camaro ss stock vs stock with my ws6.

  • @TorqueMachine Hmm, your Trans Am has 325HP, the Camaro SS has 426HP...and you beat them. Okay pal.

  • @Quatermain98526 Do more research, i wouldnt post something unless it had meaning behind it.

  • @TorqueMachine Dude, you're already being dumb. 2010 Camaro SS goes 0-60MPH in 4.6 seconds, the 2002 Trans Am went 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. The 2010 Camaro SS got an AVERAGE 1/4 mile time of 13.0, the 2002 Trans AM got an AVERAGE 1/4 mile time of 13.5.

  • @Quatermain98526 Look i can argue with you all day, and ur specs are wrong. Where im from, and what ive raced, the 2010 camaros are not faster than my ws6 stock for stock.

  • @TorqueMachine The specs are the Camaro SS has 101HP more than your Trans Am, there is no way a stock T/A will take a new Camaro SS. The only way you can beat a new CAmaro SS is if he gets poor traction or sucks at shifting. If you have watched any of the testing videos on a 2010 Camaro and the LS1 Trans Am/Camaro...tell me which one is faster.

  • @Quatermain98526 Power to Weight Ratio dude

  • Comment removed

  • @TorqueMachine ive raced them both, numerous times. the z28 is faster, especially top end wise.

  • @Termlesspine IDK in what alternate reality a 310HP car is faster than a 426HP car, but you can stay there.

  • @Quatermain98526 the 2010 SS shuts off at 145 stock.

  • @Quatermain98526 and its not 310..its 345

  • @Quatermain98526 hard to believe i know.. my neighbor has a 2010 SS, and my roommate z28, we took them to a small, country airport and raced them all night. we switched drivers, and everything, and still that damn ugly ass 2001 camaro won

  • @Termlesspine Yeah, so the 2010 is limited at 145 where the '01 is limited at 165 or so. With no limiters the 2010 has a higher top speed. And if you read the reviews the 2010 Camaro goes 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, 1/4 mile in 12.9 seconds. Read the reviews for a 2001 Camaro, goes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.6. Those reviews were done by PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS, not a couple of friends screwing around on an airfield.

  • @Quatermain98526 I admit, horsepower is the biggest factor in determining EVENTUAL topspeed, weight is a smaller player in the mile. it comes down to hp. I'm not denying that, i'm only passing on from my experience of the two cars. that is all. the z28 is ugly in my opinion, and never would i own one. id take a 150 hp 2010 before an '01

  • @Termlesspine Lol. You'd rather take a car that looks good with no balls, than a car that looks okay with lots of balls? I own a 2001 Camaro Z28, and I admit, it's not the prettiest or sportiest car, but it looks alright. And with my SLP Loudmouth, it sounds amazing. It has T-tops too, so it's a fun crusier. I like the 2010's a lot, but I think they sound weak compared to the old LS1 that I have in my Camaro.

  • @Quatermain98526 I like LS1 camaro's I think the SS models look pretty good. Plus they sound and run good, I don't care I would rather have a 2002 SS over the new ones... I think the new ones are ugly and slow for the motor they have under the hood.

  • @Quatermain98526 Also MANY years apart (which means different methods of testing).

Also the factory limiter on an LS1 4th Gen F-body is 160mph. Where do you get your information???

  • @S8ER01Z Different methods of testing? You think they stopped using the 1/4 mile drag strip to test these cars? They got IMPROVED stop watches or something? Lol. So by your logic a 2001 Camaro might be faster TODAY, because we have different methods of testing? Yes, the LS1 is limited to 160MPH, or around there, without the limiter it can hit about 180MPH.

  • @Quatermain98526 You think those magazines actually take the cars to a drag strip?

Not only are magazine results 'CORRECTED' for DA but they are done on devices like Vbox (GPS timing equipment).

  • @Quatermain98526 And the 02 WS6 has been proven to be capable of 12.8 stock with a great driver. Those number are just that... numbers. it all comes down to the driver. I've seen 2011 GT's run high 13's and on occasion 14. I've pulled 13.9 in a stock 95 Z28 vert auto with 3.23 gears. Course now im pulling numbers even a great '10SS driver would be proud of. I love the new maros and GT stangs. But I love their looks even more when they looking at my taillights in my slow 1995 Z28.

  • @Locruid The '02 Camaro and Trans Am hit high 12's in stock form. If you're running 13.9 in the 1/4 and beating a new Camaro, then they must be awful drivers. Not saying it can't happen. My '01 Z28 beat a 2011 GT twice.

  • @Quatermain98526 They are about the same to be honest. The 5th gen weighs much more than a 4th gen.

  • @vfIskullangel No. The 2010 Camaro hits 13.0 off the factory line and on the test track. The LS1's hit mid to high 13's. I know there is a 400 lb weight difference, but there's also a difference in 100HP, that's quite a bit too

  • @Quatermain98526 Not everyone will do 13.0 right off the bat. Further more the 4th gens still hold a higher top speed than the 5th gens do.

  • @vfIskullangel Is it a higher top speed due to the limiter? Because it's 325HP in the 4th gen against 426 in the 5th gen. No way a 325HP car has a higher top speed than a 426HP car.

  • @Quatermain98526 Power to weight, Gearing things like that play a huge factor. Stop reading the magazines and see for yourself. There's 403hp Subarbans out there but that doesn't mean its faster than a 300hp V6 Mustang. Also a Lamborghini Countach had a much higher top speed with 385hp than most cars do with 450hp like the Viper and Corvette C5 Z06.

  • @vfIskullangel Poor analogies. A Suburban that weighs over 5,000 lbs compared to a Mustang that weighs 3,500 lbs? Of course there is a huge weight difference. And when was there a Z06 that had only 450HP? The current Z06 has about 505HP.

Anyways, there is about 400 lbs of difference in weight between the 4th and 5th generation, and over 100HP. I think 100HP is enough to make up that 400 lb weight difference and carry a higher top speed as well.

  • @Quatermain98526 Poor analogies? What the fuck is your problem? It's a damn good one because it shows just cause it's a large vehicle with a big horsepower engine doesn't mean its fast. It's all about power to weight. Z06's typically dyno around 450hp, again stop reading the magazines and do the research!.

    I'm done with you.

  • @vfIskullangel There is a 2,500 lbs difference between a Mustang and a Suburban compared to a 400 lbs difference between the 4th and 5th generation Camaro. Yes, that's a poor analogy. The Z06 is 505HP, look it up. Maybe you're trying to say it's 450HP to the wheels? If you are, then you have to say so, otherwise you're wrong.

  • @Quatermain98526 *Facepalms*

  • @Quatermain98526 Strange my bone stock 2001 Z28 ran 13.1 @ 108mph at Cordova Dragway (a real dragstrip)... That's not even counting Evan Smith passes.

  • @Quatermain98526 they are prety damn close stock for stock cause my 01 ss has only list to my friends 2ss once and won 2 other times,,,i guess its all in the driver

  • @kidddogbites 2010 Camaro SS: 0-60 4.6 seconds 1/4 mile 12.9 seconds with 426HP 2002 Camaro SS: 0-60 5.1 seconds 1/4 mile 13.4 seconds with 325HP

    Sure, that's close.

  • @Quatermain98526 Funny my 2001 Camaro Z28 went 13.1 @ 108mph bone stock and put down 324rwhp (rear wheel) with FRA done.

  • @Quatermain98526 not necessarily, the LS1 was severely underrated, raced against a 5th gen 2SS, with my 02 B4C, he got a pull on me at first but he wasnt going anywhere after that, but at the same time i wasnt exactly gaining on him, this was a highway run 60-130

  • @Quatermain98526 Expalin why i beat a new SS with my complete stock except for an exhaust LS1? on three separate runs. He never missed a gear and he got the same launch as me.

  • @mellenjuice A new SS that runs 87 octane fuel will have lots of timing pulled, and will have a big reduction in power, that could be the case. And never missing a gear doesn't mean you're running it to its full potential. The new SS has 426HP, the 2002 SS had 325HP, maybe 350HP as some people claim...still not enough to keep up with 426HP.

Watch my videos, I beat a 2011 Mustang GT manual with my mostly stock LS1.

  • @Quatermain98526 He just got beat thats all, he didn't believe my car is stock.

  • @mellenjuice new ss's are heavy sleds....thats why, the fourth gen is much lighter and both cars boast close to the same power to weight ratios and run the same 1/4 times so the extra power of the new ss is basically pushing the extra weight both nice cars though better than a whizzing mustang anyday

  • Something wrong here. Maybe the 01 has mods?

  • @scoobyfan2009 Ya it has mods but wr well win if we where 2 pppl in the car

  • @gypsynitro I thought only civic racers complained about an extra person in the car. Get skinnier friends.

  • 4th gen f-bodies are much lighter! thats why it won

  • Out of topic. Why do people call Iphone4. iPhone 4g???

  • @mannyman84 to tell u the ture man like its the 4 iphone that came out but like it shounds bettter like iphone4

  • @mannyman84 cause its the fourth iPhone the g is for generation
