People think the US Army Special Forces are killers and shit well they're not. They are trained trainers they teach. People need to read more instead of watching shit like Rambo.
US Special Forces are trained in unconventional warfare. This can involve training, reconnaissance, counter-insurgency, renditions, demolition...The list goes on.
They are meant to be versatile like a swiss army knife.
Some units may see loads of action and rack up impressive kill numbers, while others may serve relatively quietly in terms of combat.

Being big is one of the many things that makes the US a good military. The british have elitle SF ,and so do the americans, GROM is good aswell. I have never heard of norwegian SF so I don't know. And Americans don't think Marines are SF, neither Rangers. Marines are shook troops the first ones in. And the rangers are elite infantry. Some of our SF is Army Special forces, Navy SEALs, Marine Force Recon, And Delta Force. Those are the most popular SF in the US. What are Norwegian SF called?
Here we have a Norwegian telling off the US armed forces. A Norwegian soldier is a 6 month conscript. The average US (volubnteer) soldier spends 6 years in active duty. Remember that next time you compare the quality of the two. Your SOF units recruit from 6 month wonders, ours from battle hardened NCO's who have already been in the military for years.

I am sorry, but I can't tell what your response is in the last reply. Our SF encompass a lot more than just "Delta". One of the many missions of SF is to be there daily and side-by-side with the Afghanis training them and building a report. While there are some other missions within the SF community that are more hit and run, these guys look like they have been doing the job for a while out in the field, not getting killed charging an enemy position for no reason.

Did the Apache had problems recognising the enemy from friendly? If you have com with the apache you can identify yourself using smoke or tossing a grenade nearby, safly of course, and then use machine gun tracers to mark the enemy to the apache.
why they're standing? Why not move by covering fire and also use the Apache to cover the movement, and then hit the enemy on the hill with m203 and charge them? It just looked wierd that the US force stood still and engaged in combat from that distance.
There is a lot of close combat involved, it's just rare to see any close combat footage because you can never get cameramen brave enough to go that close.

US Special Forces are trained in unconventional warfare. This can involve training, reconnaissance, counter-insurgency, renditions, demolition...The list goes on.
They are meant to be versatile like a swiss army knife.
Some units may see loads of action and rack up impressive kill numbers, while others may serve relatively quietly in terms of combat.
Army SF isn't about just training other people.

Army SF is not only a direct combat unit. It is also LRRP, force multiplier, and other unconventional tasks. The 75th Ranger Regiment is almost solely a direct combat unit, therefore, that is almost all that they train for.
SF operators need to be able to "think". They need to know the impacts of a possible decision, both military & culture effects.

And Americans don't think Marines are SF, neither Rangers. Marines are shook troops the first ones in. And the rangers are elite infantry. Here we have a Norwegian telling off the US armed forces. A Norwegian soldier is a 6 month conscript. The average US (volubnteer) soldier spends 6 years in active duty. Remember that next time you compare the quality of the two. Your SOF units recruit from 6 month wonders, ours from battle hardened NCO's who have already been in the military for years.

I am sorry, but I can't tell what your response is in the last reply. Our SF encompass a lot more than just "Delta". One of the many missions of SF is to be there daily and side-by-side with the Afghanis training them and building a report. While there are some other missions within the SF community that are more hit and run, these guys look like they have been doing the job for a while out in the field, not getting killed charging an enemy position for no reason.

Did the Apache had problems recognising the enemy from friendly? If you have com with the apache you can identify yourself using smoke or tossing a grenade nearby, safly of course, and then use machine gun tracers to mark the enemy to the apache.
