Btw. All u people talking about Chevy vs Ford are retarded. He mentions Chevrolet ONCE. Why don't u actually try....oh idk......LISTENING FOR THE MESSAGE IN THE SONG
Favorite thing to do is work on shit with my dad. Sure we bitch at each other but he's taught me a lot about both life and cars and such. And I know I don't say it enough but I love my dad and I can't thank him enough for helping me become the man I am today.
it wasn't about Ford vs. Chevy..... I guess you'd just have to be there. by the way,, I bought my first ford in 97, I've had my weekends off ever since because they dont breakdown every week like the chevy's did. just saying..
I lost mt step-father this past sunday... we were never out in the garage but he sure did teach me a lot about life, and i will never forget those moments i had with him <3
spitting image of my childhood..... that ol '86 monte SS..... or when my aunt was alive, her old gran marquis ..... i may only be 17 now but wow, i remember it like it was yesterday. Best part is now we are restoring our '90 GMC S15. get to work on it all the time whenever he is home. Awesome feeling. May we butt heads alot, but hey, when two gearheads get together, nothing goes right the first time.
some people say that they never spend any time with there dad. If you really think back to when you were young, he was more than likely spending every second with you if he was busy doing something that you cant do with him. Dont ever say that your dad was never there for you, if this is what yall did every saturday after that sun went down. Dads always teach you a lil' something when your young. Some people dont know there fathers anymore. so be happy if yours is still there for you!!!
This song means alot to me. I lost my dad when i was 5 and some of the only things i remember is him and i workin on that ole Chevy S10 but i learned some life lessons from that great man.
who cares whether it is a ford or a chevy. this song has a way bigger meaning than that. Even though, I am a girl, this honestly fits me and my dad so well. When we go out in the garage and work on my truck i learn so much from vehicles to life. Those moments are my most cherised with my dad <3
wow...........I have been a fan of Mr. Young's for years. This song is perfect for where I am in my life and struggling with learning to carry the burden of losing my wonderful daddy. RIP Big D.........nobody loved you more than me.
this song hits me at heart. my dad has a shop and does work for everyone around town from tractors to heavy equipment and cars and trucks. haha ive held that flashlight before and still do but idk just figured id say something this is a really good song..
My parents divorced when I was 2, All I got to see of my dad was 4 weeks out of every year till I turned 18 but let me tell ya my dad Is my hero! When I turned 18 I moved to Texas to live with him and that was the best decision I ever made cause we got to do exactly as this song said, The life lessons able to be taught when your with your dad are AMAZING!! I just had my first child 4 weeks ago and I can only hope I can do half as much for my Son that my dad did for me in the time he had.
its about a kid working on a car with his dad. the classic thing you would do with your dad. WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT KIND OF CAR/TRUCK IT IS?! thats not what its about. you've completely missed the whole point of the song. its about bonding time with your dad.
@luvthemusic95 theres going to be something wrong with every truck you buy.... thats just what it is.... Ford got a little too high tech i will say..... Chevy is still the all American car/truck.... when you think America you think Chevy.... like the song .... baseball, hotdogs, apple pie.. and chevrolet
@Hicktown125 thanks for commenting on this because otherwise i never would have found your channel and Luke's studio version of id love to lay you down .and i like fords more than chevys so the oppurtunity to make a joke bout it was there and i had to take it :)
