the ending of this scene is really sad, cuz it shows that Shephard still misses Liara. And interestingly, I get the strong impression that Liara still loves him and he her, but he loves Miranda more. I can't wait for Mass Effect 3!
@theQuestion626 That alone makes Liara one of the most interesting potential love interests in gaming history, she might love Shepard but she is also perfectly willing to stand aside if it isnt reprocated or you change your mind, i suspect that if you break faith with any other ME1 love interest they wont be too happy with you, Liara however is quite accepting of it
I like Miranda a lot, but in the long run I preferred Liara over her. Not to mention, Miranda can't have kids...that kind of made me sad in the pants. Though maybe I'm just biased towards liking the Asari. At any rate, I think Miranda is 100 x better than Ashley.
@playtoyx She's no clone sir, but genetically modified woman that has been born as any normal human. In Shadow Brokers dossiers there is message to Miranda sent by some doctor that says that she can't have children because of her genetic mods( at least I think thats the reason). Hope that helps, just don't call her a clone.
@playtoyx It says on the Shadow Brokers files on her that she can't have kid's. It might be because she's been modified too much or something. I;m guessing there'll be a way around it in ME 3 though. Nerd out.

The best way for it to happen is for Miranda to overcome the problem Miranda can't take credit for her accomplishments because she believes the enhanced genes are what allow her to accomplish them If Miri overcomes the problem then she would have finally achieved something on her own thus proving that her genes don't dictate what she can do. If Bioware wanted to give Miranda an accomplishment that she can take credit for then this would be it.
@ShadowJ20 that's a very good point. i think Mass Effect 2 may have laid the groundwork for that and thus would make a lotta sense for the plot as well as the characters development. my biggest hope is that they focus on MIranda and Shephard's relationship as they both deal with the Reapers, Cerberus and intergalactic destruction etc.
Will Liara only say this dialogue if it's post end-game and you've done the deed with Miranda already? Or will she say it even if you're only at the point where Miranda is "tying up loose ends for Cerberus?"

@LunaArgentum10 I really hope that most characters from ME1 and 2 are in ME3. I don't want as many new characters to be introduced to as in ME2 over ME1.
@Raeburnsnips I think all conversation choices lead to this scene. But I think you have to choose "yes" (the middle option) to hear Shepard saying that he will fight for her (and that he cares about her)
liara is the only one that you can romance in all the mass effect games... so far. but i suspect they will have more in mass effect 3.

No Miranda resigned from Cerberus : check my resignation video. And her loyalty doesn't matter, she resigned even if she's not loyal.
Her infertility is not a major problem for me, because there are many other way to have kids if she really wants it.

Why doesn't Liara comment Shep's relationship with his human love from ME1? This option also should be available.
