  • I joined the club about a year ago and ive operated about 15 times. How do u get into operating sessions? Do you sine up or ask the operator in charge?

  • @SouthernPacific8984 The club?

  • @Locomotive450 Yes, The La Mesa Club. Aren't you a member?

  • @SouthernPacific8984 Oh, the La Mesa Club. Yes, I am a member. To get into operating sessions, you have to contact the General Manager of the sessions. I can give you his contact info if you want to inquire about working at the next session.

  • @Locomotive450 Oh, thanks. I have a question about psrm. Now that they are back to running the Golden State on weekends, will they be using the 3873 or the 80 tonner? I have cab ride tickets and I want to know what locomotive they will be using.

  • @SouthernPacific8984 From what I know, the GP9 is going to have to be pulled soon for some major repairs. The 80 Tonner will probably be running for a while. However, we're also very close to getting our ALCO MRS-1 military road switcher number 2104 back into service to replace to replace 3873 until its repairs are finished. The Golden State to Division will be running on Saturdays and the Valley Flyer Railbus Adventure will be running on Sundays.

  • @Locomotive450 yeah, 2104 has been sitting primed for a year are so. Do you know what color they are going to paint it? Are the 1809 and 1820 still operational, how many diesels are operational or close to operational with minor repair?

  • @SouthernPacific8984 I actually don't know what color it's going to be. 1809 and 1820 need new wheel; otherwise, they'll be ready to run. Other than that, nothing is very close to being useable right now.

  • @Locomotive450 I heard somewhere that CGRR leased 1809 and 1820, ran the wheels down and returned them damaged. Is Larry Rose still out there? If he is, he'll be the one to ask what color they will paint 2104.

  • I was on that train the weekend before. I spent the whole trip on the observation platform of the 1509 just so I could watch the 3873. Aren't you a member at the La Mesa Model Railroad Club?

  • @SouthernPacific8984 Yes, I am. Glad someone else likes 3873.
