I am a licensed referee for high school and to tell a fans to shut up is absolutely unprofessional and inapproiate. If you have a problem with a fan you then go see the AD and let them take care of it. One thing I always say if a referee acknowledges the crowd they know that they are wrong because they are getting defensive.
The Ref should have been more professional than to tell the fans to shut up. Instead he should have just thrown them out of the gym. A Ref can legally toss anyone in the entire gym for any reason or no reason. You want to act like a jackhole at a game you are GONE. Cya.
@brucemercer I tend to agree on this one. If a fan wants to "bring it on," he should have walked away, talk to an A.D. about this rather than telling the fan to "shut up". Ref can toss a fan for being unruly at any time.
@brucemercer as a basketball referee myself, removing a fan should be a last resort. It shouldn't be something you want to do, it should be something a referee has to do for the safety of the referees, coaches and players. Spectators can become violent themselves and have a tendency to rile up others, including coaches and players. Referees are human too and we all have hour limit. Hope this helped the referee become a better referee because now its on Youtube forever.
@JBurhenn253 - as i watched further into the video I find it funny that the guy in the stands is telling the ref to check his attitude when he is the one showing the emotion.
Thats just embarassing. Watch the game and your kid play. Don't yell at the refs and stuff.

I always hated it when the score gets messed up. Sometimes I'm worried that we would win the game on the court and yet the score said otherwise.

Stupid parents. I coach basketball for a rec league and the behavior of some of the parents is crazy. It's never the kids we have problems with.

Number one--the score on the score board doesn't matter. It just matters what in the book
