I don't like to compare games between different systems, but I always liked this game better than Zelda for the N64. The concept of Jenova, and Sephiroth himself overwhelmed me when I was younger. It's so creepy and kinda sad.

I do like Sephiroth as a character, I think he was quite a developed character with a dark past and warped mind created by the truth of his origins.
His climb up to his so called "godhood" was a pretty surprised "WTF" moment for me when I first got to the Northern Crater.

Woa, I remember hearing this song in a starcraft level, when you must flee a mass infested terrans attack, destroying walls on your way... the song fits pretty well, btw.
Well it was, in a "use map settings" map. This is why a FF song can be in Starcraft, like a Basshunter song or Scorpions or whatever song you want. You just have to set something that plays a sound when you start the map you created, and if this sound is a music you have a music for SC.

They never explained it but it was probably specially made for him through some weird process, maybe Genesis' sword is the same because those two swords are pretty unique.
well, the Masamune is a legendary weapon among Final Fantasy weapons, the origin is never explained, the bound between Seph and the katana is also never explained (At least in FF7, dunno about Before Crisis).
@TheHeroOfRandom It isnt a Katana. Its a Nodachi, a rare weapon for elite foot soldiers once used to cut down cavalry and thus the extreme length. Its a symbol to denote both his military importance and swordsmanship mastery, since they are extremely difficult to use. Then the fact that he wields it one handed shows his superhuman strength.
@UltimentZeldaFan1 /facepalm. Masamune was a legendary Japanese swordsmith. Many swords in Japanese fiction are given the title the "Masamune" to denote their power, prestige or faniciful origin. Youll find a reference to it in most Square games from Chrono Trigger to FF games. The swords NAME in the game is the Masamune. The TYPE of blade it is is a Nodachi because it is far far too long to be called a Katana

@TheOldskool2009 Honestly Chrono is impossible to really compare to LO. They came out 20 years apart. Chrono is just one of the best rpg's ever made, hands down. LO is one of the best JRPG's to have come out in many years. I found it far superior to any of the final fantasy games since 8. (I admit I have not managed to beat 9 but Zidane ruins it.) I would say LO is better than Chrono Cross and I liked it more than Xenogears. But VP was crazy good for its time.

This song was freaking beast when I first heard it, and it perfectly fits Sephiroth. I listen to this song almost everyday and I never get tired of it. Dancing Mad was cool too, but in my opinion, I like listening to this song rather than Dancing Mad.

I really enjoyed this game and still do but it surely is way overrated. Great game and very influential but hardly above criticism. The plot was overly convoluted and didn't always hang together and the art direction was all over the place, but you're right on this point: OWA is an amazing song!

I'm just going to say it. Sephiroth was a good villain. There. He was a good villain who gets way too much hate simply because he has a legion of retarded fans who just praise the shit out of him for having long hair and a ten-foot katana. I love FFVII and liked most of the characters. It's an amazing game, even if the fans are mostly retards (As well as the haters. Grow up.)

They never explained it but it was probably specially made for him through some weird process, maybe Genesis' sword is the same because those two swords are pretty unique.

well, the Masamune is a legendary weapon among Final Fantasy weapons, the origin is never explained, the bound between Seph and the katana is also never explained (At least in FF7, dunno about Before Crisis).

@TheHeroOfRandom It isnt a Katana. Its a Nodachi, a rare weapon for elite foot soldiers once used to cut down cavalry and thus the extreme length. Its a symbol to denote both his military importance and swordsmanship mastery, since they are extremely difficult to use. Then the fact that he wields it one handed shows his superhuman strength.

@UltimentZeldaFan1 /facepalm. Masamune was a legendary Japanese swordsmith. Many swords in Japanese fiction are given the title the "Masamune" to denote their power, prestige or faniciful origin. Youll find a reference to it in most Square games from Chrono Trigger to FF games. The swords NAME in the game is the Masamune. The TYPE of blade it is is a Nodachi because it is far far too long to be called a Katana

@TheOldskool2009 Honestly Chrono is impossible to really compare to LO. They came out 20 years apart. Chrono is just one of the best rpg's ever made, hands down. LO is one of the best JRPG's to have come out in many years. I found it far superior to any of the final fantasy games since 8. (I admit I have not managed to beat 9 but Zidane ruins it.) I would say LO is better than Chrono Cross and I liked it more than Xenogears. But VP was crazy good for its time.

I really enjoyed this game and still do but it surely is way overrated. Great game and very influential but hardly above criticism. The plot was overly convoluted and didn't always hang together and the art direction was all over the place, but you're right on this point: OWA is an amazing song!
