I like this video for one simple reason..It's "REAL!"!!!..The album is chalk full of pain, loneliness, feeling painted in a corner and of course, "heroin rock!!"..And all the metaphors and adjectives describing that lifestyle!...I wish there were less songs/music/media that glamorized junkies then there were!..It's a very sad, lost, constricting 24/7 7 day a week lifestyle choice that the drug winds up making for you!!...You simply become the...DRUG..
@dgenerated Even Scott admits.."You have about a year tops" of enjoyment, excitement and pleasure from the high/experience/lifestyle..Then you've made a career/lifestyle change that becomes the hardest, most conflicting and most constricting job you'll ever have! There are no days off, no holidays, no downtime,no breaks and the hours are "never-ending!!" No sick days on a junkies schedule!!..I wish more info was out there that was more positive!?.Even if you quit? You still never feel normal!!
killer wake in the evening killer walk ouside when she comes divided she nearly comes alive she only cares when her libido is buzzing bees only thrive when the honey is there she knows the way to the script write doctor she calls him up when the itch gets bad the itch gets bad a model makes you famous a dying goat's a lamb a processed pig is white trash meat some people call it spam she only cares when her libido is buzzing
Yes, I shot this on 16 mm hand-held, and 35mm stills. It was great working with Scott and the other musicians. They were very serious about their work. I have another video from that album that I'm working on.
I so love this record. I had tickets to see them in Cincinnati and Mr Weiland was "ahem" arrested the day before in NYC. Shame, I wanted to see Martyn Lenoble again. Great Chap.
When I see Scott making this album I can see a bit of Héctor Lavoe... not really crazy if you make sense of comparisons... just check the environment and the background, besides Scott´s condition.
@itsgottabejanelle Why do some smack addicts - like Weiland - stay productive throughout their addiction. Whereas others - like Staley - hole up in their apartments and rot from the inside out?
@termsofusepolice If you don't know it, check out mad season. The song is called River of Deceit. It's pretty much a complete and honest answer to your question.
On some lyrics pages this song is titled "Jimmy was a stimulator", and on others its "Divider". I think you`re right though. Unless Jimmy is a man, lol..
12 Bar Blues is one of the best albums I've ever heard. I really hope Scott does more stuff like it. I like Happy In Galoshes, but not as much as this album.
My dad got this for me for my 13th birthday and I loved it right away. I really wish they would've put Lazy Divey on it too, though.
i love this record so much and this is the most fun song to play on Bass in my opinion, Scott is the best frontman of all time and very talented singer and than u put him with these other very talented musicians and u get a very beautiful sound Thanks for sharing this rare kickass video
At 1:10,looks like Sid ... that heroin-look. Real messy these days.I´m just glad he survived and at least looks healthy today. Best songwriter and singer.....
This video footage is very spooky to me! Trippy as well. You can easily tell that Scott is wayyyyy out there! lol Nonetheless..this is one of my fav songs in 12BB! I like that bassa nova sound.
I'm a jazz lover and I've been listening to some recent Brad Mehldau's works. I'm also a hard rock lover and I've been kicking ass listening to STP on my car. Never, and I mean never on my dreams I would imagine these guys playing together. We all could get drunk at the same party huh!
he sounds like chester bennington in this song (!)
okay, you can have a violent reaction against what i wrote above but i won't give a damn. it's just what i think. but scott's better than chester, okay?
Was this from the album? Cause you can hardly hear the mellotron being played, unlike in the actual 12 Bar Blues version. But very nice video. I'd love to meet Scott Weiland and Victor Indrizzo.
'Divider' is one of my favorites on 12 Bar Blues. When i was filming this at Royal Tone, Scott was very professional and serious about his music. Everyone their was really into it.
