  • LOVE THIS <3

  • Yes....I know this is in "English", but after spending the better the better part of today (and night) at "Jacob Wirth" Restaurant (landmark) in Boston with this Scottish/ Irish guy from Yorkshire......I was having trouble understanding his "English"...plus we were having a couple. Bring it on "Jake"...

    5*

  • Wow Terry!! This ia a Blast from the past!! Jake Thackray a clever and outspoken Yorkshireman appeared as a guest vocalist on different TV Shows during the late 50's and early 60's. IMHO he was ahead of his time, a Brilliant Composer and delivered all his musical stories with his own branded 'Deadpsn' expression. Brilliant upload Terry and straight to the Fav's folger.....Thank you!!

  • @NewAgeParadigm Sorry Gott it wrong Again thsnks to Gangly1 for the Upload and thanks to Terry for the share!! A Truly Awesome upload My Friend!!

    Mike

  • @NewAgeParadigm

    Hi Mike.

I have added the words in the description.

    Keep watching!

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • @NewAgeParadigm

    No probs Mike.

I am just "softening folks up" for an imminent posting of another Jake song by a friend and me. Should appear over Xmas time.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • Hi, Mike! I knew you would love this. I would

    enjoy seeing those Thackray interviews.

Please, Lord, give me the willpower to not

seek them out when I've so much other YT

to do! I keep zipping backward and forward

in time! I have a Capt Kirk complex! love ~T

  • my god, this is awesome

  • Oh, me encanta este video, soy una amante de las gallinas :)

    Saludos!

    Gemma

  • Another nugget of Jake to savour, thanks for the picture show.

  • @DavetheIV

Cheers Dave. I will be putting up a few of his originals...before I post one of my own.

A "softening-up" process for those that don't know this great man.

It seems to be working, from what I read.

I may have shot myself in the foot here!!

    Keep well my friend.

    Paul

  • One of my favourite song writers Paul, I always thought he was a Geordie, till I done some research and found out he was from Leeds.

    Thanks for posting Bud! :-)

  • @Lansdownekid

    Cheers Harry.

    Cracking songwriter.

The humour is right up my street.

I can't say the same for the "wordsmithness!"

  • Ha! Very entertaining. I had a bantam rooster when I was a child, The Captain. He regularly spurred my legs as I would attempt to collect eggs from under members of his harem. He was territorial, feisty, and ruthless. I delighted in coercing friends to help collect the eggs knowing quite well that they would soon be squealing in terror as he delivered his assault. Ha ha ha ha.... thanks for the great memory. Long live the Captain!!

    Pura Vida!!

    Ron

  • @13crickets

    Excellent tale Ron.

This will ring some bells then!

They have an insatiable appetite for sex and general bother.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Now I know why you didn´t want o sing IYCRMM :-)

    Like your singing voice!

But I couldn´t understand all the lyrics - could you please put them into the description next time?

    Cheers - Sabine-)

  • @SabMei1

    Hi Sab.

I have added the words for you.

    Hope you are well.

    Paul

  • @Gangly1

    Thanks Paul.

After listening again through headphones and reading the lyrics I´m in a good mood :))

I´m looking forward to the next songs!

    TC Sab

  • @SabMei1

Im glad this makes you happy Sab.

    Keep watching!

  • @SabMei1

Hahaha!! If only I could sing like this.

I have only put the pics up.

    Cheers

    Paul

  • Thanks for the wry treat here, Paul. This is surely

unlike any other tune I'll hear this season, unless

you've a mind to do more! Wishing you happy

    holidays from South Florida, ~Terry

  • Laugh-out -loud, but terrific guitar as well!

  • Paul, thanks for doing your bit to put Jake 'out there', yes he truly was England's finest writer of songs, we'll sadly never see the like again. My top 5? The Lodger, Sister Jo, On Again, Jolly Captain, Leopold Allcox. Have a happy Christmas, keep posting :-)

  • @ironmonger100

    Cheers Shaun.

We are of the same mind.

The Lodger? That would be a hell of a lot of photos....but I am half way through them!

Regards and greetings for the coming season,

    Paul

  • Well....what can I say! Cluck...cluck...

    That's a very clever cockerel!

    Nice singing Paul!

    Thumbs up and best wishes,

    sam :-D

  • @sammu5

If only I could sing like this.

I am just posting some originals to slideshows.

"Softening you up" for my own version of one of his songs, together with my dulcet Yorkshire tones!

How did you get on with YTO?

    TC

    Paul
