@doneystoney what Resident Evil needs to be is Resident Evil, its bad enough that RE4 took away the survival aspect and RE5 took away the horror. Turning the series into a shooter will further alienate the series roots. RE is not about being trigger happy, its about conserving supplies and being prepared for the worst. Check out REmake and Code Veronica, they where RE in its prime.

Resident Evil 5 is a good game but it doesn't give the amazing feeling that RE4 gave the first time playing. I would say RE4 is more fun than RE5 but RE5 is good in a different way. I agree that the cut-scenes are great but Sheva can be VERY stupid at some parts like in the part with the light-ray puzzle she refuses to help you even though you're dying from snake bites and there are large spiders all over your body.

@meg5493 I was a diehard RE fan from the very first game back when it first came out. I played them feverishly even up until RE0 on the GameCube. But when RE4 came out, it changed everything. The older games will always be good memories to me, but RE4 and RE5 surpass them in (almost) every way. The only one I can really still play is the RE remake on the GameCube. The rest haven't aged well

Keep in mind, little kids who play the new games will have a very hard time getting into the older games.

Just reading through the responses in this video makes me realize not even 1% of the people who watched this video know anything about the Resident Evil 5 storyline.

1). They're not zombies.

2). Resident Evil 5 wasn't intended to be survival horror Get up to speed with the current story of Resident Evil before commenting on that -- watch some movies and read some lore, kthxbai.

3). This is the best Resident Evil game to date.

4). This game has hundreds of hours of replay value.

5). Go buy it.

It's a terrible game. It's insultingly easy, they hand bullets and guns to you like a mum whipping the food of a kids face after every bite of food. On the hardest difficulty on my first try it took me 7 hours to complete.I didn't even bother killing things most of the time. Because enemies in RE5 are annoyances rather than threats. Furthermore the wesker thing would be like mario killing browser for good. Its not re-playable once you know whats coming its even easier

If anything this was as if the original writers died and their secretaries decided to finish it off. The fear base of the whole game was completely absent. This is RE we're talking about, the literal first born child of the survival-horror genre, by default it has to have those elements in it because that's what lured people

I was really hoping you would be alone, at night, walking through huts and adobe houses, and shooting zombies. The biggest thing I hate from this game though, is the inventory and characters. It seems like RE4 got everything right. Leon was much cooler and the style of the whole game, I thought, was way better than 5. Although I did enjoy this one.
