Caren Kolat was pinned by a kid from Sayre, PA, but the refs were busy being nancy boys and didn't bother to tap him out. Someone shoul dpost the video of Bobby Abrams of Sayre pinning this kid. Cary, remember getting pinned? It is on tape. The refs were brain-dead and brain washed to believe that Cary wouldn't lose, but he was pinned.

In high school he won 4- section titles, 4- regional titles and 4 state titles wrestling for Jefferson-Morgan High School. He was voted Outstanding Wrestler at the state tournament all 4 years. He also won the Dapper Dan Classic and U.S. High School Nationals. Cary never lost a match in high school. His record was 137-0. He was also a Cadet World champion Dapper Dan is in Pittsburgh, PA & pits PA against the USA.

I watched Kolat at a Lock Haven tourney--pre-season, he wrestled in the high school and college age groups....no kidding....he got called to one mat, wiped up the kid quick, sprinted to the other mat he was just called to and wiped up the college aged guy, it was amazing....he was truly a machine...and he did his backflip escape thing.....

I firmly believe that all serious high school wrestlers should wrestle/train freestyle in the off season. It truly does refine your technique, and I believe that it increases your intensity!

For those of you living in the Baltimore area, you can train with him. The guy is not a Dave Shultz "I don't know why I'm so good type" either. He really knows the ins and outs of the sport.

Sorry I'm getting into this late, but I feel the opposite. Freestyle wrestling is horrible, and the international rules are stupid. It doesn't allow you to ride and really work for a fall. I never understood the whole back exposure thing either. It's rolling a guy around, but not trying to pin him. Plus, the whole pushout rule they have now is totally bogus. Guys stop working for take downs and just muscle you off the mat. Folk style is more about work ethic. No offense, I just don't get it.
