  • Well, either way you go could take a little work. I am running the HPI E-Savage transmission in mine, but i had to convert it to all metal gears, which took some work, and obviously i had to mount it in the truck and build the driveshafts so it was a little time consuming. It seems like people are having pretty good luck running the stock transmission, removing all of the reverse stuff, and locking it into 2nd gear. My transmission has been really reliable and im happy with the way it turned out

  • I'm thinking about doing this to my older .21 mgt just havent figuered out if i want to stick with the stock trans or use a savage trans? any recommedations?

  • @WVcharger My truck didnt have a transmission when i got it,so i decided to put an electric style transmission in the truck. This way i dont have to run mechanical brakes. There is nothing wrong with mechanical brakes, its just more work, and then you dont have reverse. So, id say either way has its advantages. One thing you might look into is mounting a buggy center differential. Fairly cheap and very reliable. They dont take up much space either and they are very light and tuneable with fluid.

  • @CumminsDriver635 still in the planning stages since the truck is still in decent shape dont know if I want to sell it or keep it nitro or convert but thnks for the info and I'm going to look in to that buggy diff also Thanks for the quick reply.
