  • How many Class82 EMU are currentry on service??

I heard this paticular EMUs are more likely to broke down than other 2 EMUs due to mechanical problem.

  • @5862smartfan The exact number I'm not that particularly sure. Although this type of EMU is prone to breakdowns, KTM Komuter has managed to procure the spare parts for these EMUs and if you realise, the 'Shuttle Hybrids' are no longer in service as the EMUs have already been repaired and is under their own motive power.

Come September 2011, the new Six (6) Car Set (SCS) for KTM Komuter will be delivered from China.

  • @budakPERASAN Thankyou for giving me a detailed reply.

I know soon the KTMB will accept a new train set as you know it already written in the Wikipedia,

but I didn't know how many cars one train formated.

Also I didn't know KTMB suspended running Hybrid train.

Both are good news to me.

I hope new train set will promote more KL people choosing commute by train insted of cars.

  • @5862smartfan Well, it is true that KTM Komuter is receiving their new EMU soon. However, some articles in Wikipedia shouldn't be trusted too much. For the new EMUs which will be arriving soon, they are in 6-car formation. Although from China, most of the internal parts of the train are from Siemens, Germany.

Yeap, KTM Komuter has since suspended the 'Shuttle Hybrids' due to the Generator which have been giving alot of problems and shortage of locomotives for KTM Intercity.

  • @budakPERASAN Thankyou for notice about it.

I'm very intersting about the new EMU!!

Please let me know if you gonna upload it's video.

P.S Sorry about my bad English.

  • @5862smartfan Haha, it's ok.

Did you purchased the F1 3-day KTM Komuter & SIC Pass? Because if you did, you might be among the first few passengers to preview the first SCS EMU for KTM Komuter this coming September.

  • @budakPERASAN Oh that's pity for me.

I'm living in Japan and I'm the one of Japanese railfan who interested in Malaysian rail.

I wish I could visit and see ETS and new stock someday…

Anyway thankyou giving me a lot of information!!

    Terima kasih banyak.

  • @5862smartfan Sama-sama!

I am actually residing in Singapore but really admire much of Malaysian Railways. For your info, KTM Intercity is set to start service with the Japan Blue Train Coach soon donated by JR. The coaches are still at Pulau Indah awaiting new bogies.

Do you have a Facebook or email? I can share with you some photos and videos of the ETS..
