this is just fun- i'm from a little town in the midwest- we make meatloaf- never seen it on broadway but to all you musical bashing h.phobes, just stop it! what do you want your kids to listen to - rap- no offense- but really.. at least you don't have to screen the lyrics and cover their ears.

Cody and June were amazing together, and June is simply amazing. I had no idea that much energy and talent could come out of that young of a person under stress of keeping up with school and such. I want to see it again. Amazing and I suggest seeing it.

And lastly:

Blinding sun -- at our Saturday afternoon matinee, with a low winter sun streaming through the dramatic glass wall of the lobby, half the crowd was squinting with palms to their foreheads. Any money left in the budget for some Venetian blinds?

Disappointed on three counts:

1. Durability -- while the production was adequate, it was sad to see how a show which was such a central part of my "entertainment world" growing up in the 1950's, had nothing to "say" to me lo these many years later.

2. Seating -- 2.5 hours is a long time to sit twisted at a 45 degree angle so that I could see the stage. Thank goodness for chiropractors. Warning: only pick seats in the center of a row.

Kudos to Eleasha, Nicholas Rodriguez, and the rest of the stars for making this performance so riveting. Kudos to Molly Smith for adding in diversity for reverting a potential crisis and for making this production so powerful and life changing.
