Well, she also said( I read the interview in magazine): she wrote for Lance's children, b ut of course they've since ended their relationship. so, maybe she has changed her feelings about the song..
Oh! Haha, maybe it's about a lot of things. I just heard her say at a show during the intro to this song that she wrote it after she'd heard that when George Harrison died, he said he didn't want the family to release the news until 24 hours after he was gone, so that the sadness of the world would not weigh his spirit down on its way out of this world. She was saying that it was about the innocence we have that we somehow lose along the way in life. Whatever it's about, it's beautiful. :)
I agree, "maybe it's about a lot of things.." she's a poet and she sees the world in a mosaic mixture of sad; wondering; beautiful; lingering feelings of all we experience. She's a darn good artist who can paint such lovely songs..and melodies. ONE OF THE prettiest songs, yet, she's under-rated I think because she's so assoc with her radio hits.
this song is kind of haunting in the melody. It is a great bedtime song; relaxing and melancholy. Yet hopeful in it's meaning: how wildflowers push through...at the most unexpected places.

this song was written for Lance's children..
I love the idea of how WF's can pop up anywhere; a mataphor for life. When life gets tough, just look around, you'll find a flower pushing through..
Vee(GREAT SONG!
