  • finally someone who makes some good drums

  • @2WhoWhaBooHoo Thanks very much. Glad you like 'em.

  • why is there no octave or sustain knobs on drum 2

  • thanks man!

  • hey chris...do u know anything on the internet that might help me get some idea with drum sound synthesis...all I have read till now is the "Theory and Technique of Electronic Music"...which though very informative has not helped me with drums.......

  • @ThePPproject Wow, "Theory and Technique of Electronic Music" looks super technical. I've PM'd you a link to a set of Sound on Sound articles called Synth Secrets which is very good. Cheers.

  • @ChrisLody Thanks a lot mate!!....the link you provided is proving really usefull.

  • @ThePPproject No worries. i'm still reading those articles myself, there's some good stuff therein. Cheers.

  • thanks for posting this ive been trying to get a more natural sound outta the DS-10 for a while now thanks

  • I'm glad you found it useful. I must get round to using them in a track myself sometime. Cheers

  • Bit of a newcomer to the DS-10 but will be stealing these without a doubt. Good job :)

  • Glad to hear it. With a name like voodoo ray you can't fail to have good influences! Cheers

  • Glad you got the reference :)

Been poking about your page, you're like some kind of "bleeping" mad professor, keep it up!

  • Thanks : )

  • The snare and bass drum are pretty damn slick.

The hi-hat won't win any awards but it's probably about the best the humble DS-10 can produce. Fine work, I'll be sure to borrow heavily from this. ;)

  • Thanks. I put a lot of work in on the hi-hat's but had to draw a line somewhere for fear of driving myself insane. Each hit would ideally sound slightly different but obvoiusly that's not really an option because they're rendered, sounds better when not in isolation I think. Glad you found them useful. Cheers

  • glad to see you doing some patches.

  • Thanks. Hope you like them.

  • i am gonna put them on the korgds-10 blog. i mean embed the video and put your comments. ok?

  • Yeah, i'd be flattered! You don't have to ask in future. if you see anything you like you can just link straight to it : )

  • Oh man great job!!!!!! Wow thanks for posting. Love this kit and the toms man. I think Phil Collins would be of them........Great job and again thank you 4 the post

  • No worries, just glad to have learned a few things. I've learned so much about synthesis from ds-10. I can toy away at things like this endlessly on the sofa. Glad you liked it, you and Phil Collins!

  • Well done man! Glad to see you editing the kits. This section gets overlooked so often on the DS-10. Many users are not tweeking their kits when there's truely a whole world of new sound just waiting to be tapped by tweeking the drums. Again.., well done!

  • Thanks man, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I've always tried to do drums but not given it this much effort before. Most happy with my snare, not even sure how I did that, bit of a case of 'quick save before I loose it!'.

  • yeah man the snare's really nice! i like the hi hats the most TBH. the open hat is kickaz!

  • That's odd, your comment wasn't in my inbox. Glad you like it. The open hat took the most effort, I'd heard flanger was a good idea on these but had no idea what else to do. toyed with it for ages before it sounded good. Almost went crazy listening to it over and over and over.

  • HAHA nice!. like chinese water torture.

  • Heh heh, yeah that's it! Like a big splahy sounding water torture.

  • :) .
