Yes you can and you don't need to play with japanese to play with ninjas. They are mercenaries in this game, so any civ can hire them on saloon or as a home city shipment. The Ninjas arn't always aviable in the saloon because saloon randomzies 2-3 mercenaries that you can hire plus the local bandits.

Lol, the howdahs are amazing. I mean, 101 damage x2 on cavalry????? 202 damage per shot ftw!!!!! And about 10 howdahs will take out any cavalry in the game with one super shot. Too bad it takes, like, 70 population. Still, I think it's worth it. If you get them cranked out to exalted, they're pretty much hell on Age of Empires

Japan has the best late game eco? Is that a joke? They only have 75 settler limit, shirines dón't makeup for it, they can't hunt!!!! Japan Doesn't has the best eco compared to India. Japs have the best late game military though. 5.40 speed samurais, ashigaru high attack, Naginata's uber HP. They have a really nice late game military but never would I say they have the best eco. They have the best wonders though :P

Well, I don't really care what the Settler limit is cause i only use around 50... with that and bunch of eco improvement cards, I never run out of supplies in the late game when i continuously send in all the samurais my pop limit can support. With 5 barracks, 10 block impov from j-isolation, faster infantry card and faster infantry improv from church you get from the dutch, you hav no idea how fast i can train 50 samurais. I never liked any asian artillaries other then the flying crow though...

yes the scale of the battles is a lot bigger in medieval 2 i mean here ur army is of 150 soldiers more or less because of pop limit and villagers in medieval 2 just a single unit can have 200 soldiers and in medieval 2 the gunpowder is more realistic but in that time it wasnt so decisive so it isnt focused that much in gunpowder
