  • his uncle lived in my town he came to see him in 1989 i love the show thanks clint

  • This is a classic gun fight western thank you very much.

  • Kinda weird how the name Cheyenne is now given to little girls, it should've remained a boys name. Ugh

  • my name is shayan, this is my theme song now.

  • can you please let spongebob sing this ... when hes doing the catdaddy i think it would be cool

  • Cheyenne,Wyoming.....men are men and the sheep are nervous...I love the Cowboy State!!!!

  • Even though I'm a girl, I like to sing this to myself sometimes and pretend like I have my own theme song. :)

  • I have this on 78rpm by The Sons of the Pioneers, i should upload it i guess.

  • YAH LOVE IT

  • @IwshIcldstrtover ... can't you just enjoy these wonderful old songs without turning them into political statements????

  • My #1 western: Cheyenne with Clint Walker; #2 Gunsmoke with James Arness when i was 5.

  • Does anybody know who made the paintings for the credits in this series?

  • I HAVE MY OWN THEME SONG

  • i can't this out of my head, love to have it played at my funeral

  • According to my mother, my first word was "Cheyenne" no doubt because of this show. Well, they do repeat it a lot. :-D

  • Don't remember Sugarfoot. Do remember Cheyenne

  • Loved this show. On every Monday night, Laramie on Tuesday, Wagon train Wednesday. Can't begin to tell you the memories this brings back as a 9-10 year old at the time. You'll never see shows or hear music like this ever again.

  • @salemst Don.t forget Sugarfoot!

  • Awesome song when you out looking for a place to stay and your name is Cheyenne. Winning.

  • Clint Walker was the man. Warners had so many great themes. I think my favorite was "Lawman," which I no longer see posted on youtube. Thanks for posting this wonderful memory from the Golden Age of TV theme songs.

  • @speedy45rpm I believe that the television programs in the Warner Brothers boilerplate were among the most melodic. Most of them were co-written by Mack David, whose brother is part of a famous songwriting ampersand.

  • @Juliaflo Wow, I never would have known that about Mack David, whose brother of course had a few hits of his own. I looked up Mack and found that other WB themes he co-wrote were "77 Sunset Strip," "Hawaiian Eye," "Surfside SIx" and "Bourbon Street Beat." Not to mention the themes to "Casper the Friendly Ghost" and the "Bugs Bunny Show" and the Shirelles hit "Baby It's You." Thanks for the information!

  • @speedy45rpm I meant most melodic television themes. My bad.

    Have a good summer.

  • I was just a kid back in the 50's and 60's but I remember loving these shows and wishing that I had lived out west! I grew up just south of Detroit , in northern Ohio. Today I live in Denver, Colorado and I love this beautiful country. Can't help but think Mr. Walker had an influence on me and where I wanted to live!!

  • Compvid101....youre right...its classic, "the good old days", minus the crappy b&w tv sets, lol

  • just got my t shirt and signed photo from cheyenne himself. YAY!!!

  • @jaddajn1 Enjoy...I just got an autograph photo of Clint Walker. First and only celebritiy that I ever wrote to!

  • You can find the series on Netflix.com.

  • @utellem2 thanks tried that but it's not available outside the usa

  • yup thats my name dont were it out

  • I remember my childhood years too. Time goes by....

  • Great Theme Song and Spectacular Show. The reruns have been on cable TV recently and it brings back many happy memories. Clint Walker was perfect for the role of Cheyenne.

  • So funny seeing this when your own name is Cheyenne :')

  • @cheyennis totally! i know right.. my favorite girls name is cheyenne :) (because my girlfriends name is cheyenne haha)

  • Another great Stan Jones number.

  • By the time I came along westerens was a thing of the past but last year I spent alot of time with my parents and they introduced me to western tv and I have to say that Cheyenne is my favorite, his theme song constantly plays in my head and his sexiness is beyon what most actors brings you today. Although I am a 80's baby and Cheyenne was totally not in my era I really love this show.

  • Move along Cheyenne like a restless cloud up above

The wind the blows it comes and goes

    has been your only hope

but will that wild wind one day cease and you'll no longer roam.

  • Does anyone remember an episode where Clint was sitting on a horse singing a song that went something like Ringo Rango Jingy dong dango....Spurs on my boots cause I dont give a hoot cause I got me a pretty womens love ??? I think it was cheyenne someone out there help me ...

  • @randymemphis I do believe that that may have actually been Fess Parker, in an old Disney movie. The song was "Ringle Rangle". It was one of their attempts at a "kid friendly" western, something along the lines of "Westward Ho! The Wagons", although I don't believe that was the movie it was in. Hope it helps.

  • @elc1960 The movie you're talking about is Westward Ho! released by Disney and yes Fess Parker did the song wringle wrangle. you can find a copy of the soundtrack album on ebay

  • @fatjud1 Wow! I got one right! Actually, I remember seeing that movie, but at the time I was very young and got bored with it. I remember some of the Mousketeers were in it, as was George Reeves (aka "Superman"). I saw it on Disney's "Wonderful World of Color" when I was about 4 or 5 (and I just showed myself to be a very oooollllldddd man for remembering the name of that TV show - LOL). Thanks for jogging my memory, which was better than I thought.

  • @elc1960 lol well i am only 32 but i love all these old shows especially the westerns. I don't know why their aren't any westerns on primetime tv anymore because people like a well made western.

  • @fatjud1 If you have the Encore package, you can occasionally see episodes of "Cheyenne" and "Maverick" there. And of course, TVLand has "Bonanza" and "Gunsmoke" as part of their daily lineup. I agree, they should try a Western or two in prime time . . . gets a little bit monotonous with all the "CSI" spinoffs, bogus "talent competitions" and alleged "reality" shows glutting the TV landscape nowadays.

  • @elc1960 I have a lot of the old western shows on dvd including the complete series of cheyenne, maverick, the rifleman, lawman, trackdown, bronco, sugarfoot, law of the plainsman, johnny ringo, stories of the century, and have lots of almost complete series. I WISH I WISH I WISH they would give us at least one great western show on tv today.

  • @fatjud1 upload the complete series of cheyenne PLEASE

  • @irishjanet i'm sorry i can't. it's illegal, i had them all on vhs from years ago and ripped them onto dvd.

  • @fatjud1 Me too!!

  • @irishsetterarchie lol always nice to meet a like minded person!!!

  • i have the complete series on dvd,and brings back happy memories

  • Loved watching Cheyenne in the early 60's. One of my favorite westerns. Thanks for the video of the song. Lots of good memories!

  • Helle i'm from holland.

    my name is Cheyenne.

    i'm 10 year old.

  • 2nd Half:

But will the wild wind one day cease and you'll no longer roam

Move along Cheyenne, the next pastures always so green

Driftin on Cheyenne dont forget the things you have seen

And when you settle down where will it be Cheyenne

    Cheyenne

  • @FireFlyHallsten Thanks for posting the words to Cheyenne theme song!

  • Here are the words (Half) ill post the rest but its too long for all at once:

Cheyenne Cheyenne, where will you be campin' tonight

Lonely man Cheyenne, will your heart stay free and light

Dream Cheyenne, of a girl you may never love

Move along Cheyenne, like the restless cloud up above

The wind that blows, that comes and goes has been your only home

  • audiophile55,woolybully455, and especially serberious--I'm with ya. Can't believe I can hear the theme song again. That's what America is supposed to be...

  • Watched this as a kid and wanted to just like clint walker when I grew up - and what could be better than that ? !.

  • Clint Walker could kick most of the men in film today that's what can bring a tear to your eye!

  • yeah, well im clint motha fuckin walker! haha

  • BEST SONG 4EVER

HAHA MY NAME IS CHEYENNE XD

  • My name is Cheyenne. : )

My grand daddy used to love this show.

  • U cereal?????? BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

  • He should be wearing ladies high heels.

  • What has happened to these great westerns where good always triumphed over evil. Where the story was everything. No need to show blood and guts. No need to throw in sex.

This is the first time I have heard this in 50 years. Thank you for posting. One of the greatest western ever.

  • @iamzbacku yes your comment is true mate, where in deed has all the simple quality stuff gone ????? like all things today including TV its rubbish and cheap and nasty and quick to make and quick to scrap as well, its a good thing you and other,s can see the difference from then to now, Big Corporates brainwashing and eventually programing our kids into their Big Fat bank Accounts, so so wrong,!!

ah the good ol days mate, cheer,s

PS, we still watch every western we can n tv, vhs or dvd, cheer,s

  • luv this show! reruns would come on the western channel when i was 8 me and my papa would watch this every afternoon! It was my papa's favorite show because my name is Cheyenne. :)

  • When I was young, along time ago...lol

I had a 'teen crush' on Clint Walker. He was 'dishy' to me.

  • AMERICANI DI MMERDA PUZZATE DI HOT DOG

  • OMG......I actually saw episodes of Cheyenne, Have Gun, & The Virginian on TV the other night by accident. I nearly sh*t myself when I heard the music come on....I came flying out of the kitchen like a bat out of hell thinking, WTF did the Outer LImits just take control of my TV?? :0)

  • Clint Walker is possibly the coolest cowboy ever!

  • Could someone post the Geoff Love orchestration from the 1970 TV western theme album please?

  • Does anyone know where I can find this on dvd besides Barnes and Nobel? Dad really got me into this (ok, so Clint Walker was hot ;P) and the Cheyenne show has become such a bonding ritual for us. Even if we could find someplace to watch it online would be helpful, thanks.

  • thats my name!!

  • Clint Walker and Ty Hardin ruined me for life. I grew up thinking I was going to find men as gorgeous as the were. Two of the best looking men ever!

  • clint walker shall always be recognised and remembed as cheyenne what a brilliant show !

  • Wow.....this was one of my top three as a kid. Bronco, Sugarfoot, Maverick, Bonanza, Rifleman were all up there. My parents never needed a TV Guide, just ask Mike what was on next. lol

Now I'm twice as old as these dudes were then....ugh. I'd rather be little watching Clint Walker again. :D

  • @mikefmich Great comment. My name happens to Mike as well, and I could have written this comment myself. There were some great western theme songs. This, Bronco, Paladin, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Tombstone Territory and Maverick.

  • i wish i had the patience to watch this, but a solid hour just sitting? only if it were a half hour

  • my names cheyenne how wierd is dat?

  • The universe talking to me. It's time to ride.

  • Stan Jones wrote the lyrics, but let's also give William Lava credit for the music!

  • @pd1812 Of course, the majority of the Warner Brothers television themes were written by Jerry Livingston and Mack David, the latter of whom was somewhat eclipsed by his brother Hal.

    You dig?

  • The theme by Stan Jones is iconic.

  • My friend's grandma lived in Hollywood at that time and she said that Clint Walker dated Rock Hudson.

  • your friend's grandma is full of sh*t.

  • cheyenne:its weird having a song thats your name, weird in a good way.

  • I know isn't it cool? *has same name*

  • koolieezz my name is cheyenne lol this is so kool!!!

  • Cheyenne was another of my favorite western TV shows. Some thing about Clint Walker that made that show so cool.

  • when is WB going to wake up and release the rest of this series

  • @zub693 YES AND MAVERICK AND ALL THE OTHER T.V WESTERNS THEY MADE WEINER BROTHERS SUCK

  • i love cheyenne its my favorite tv show me my papaw and my grandma watch encore western all the time and im down there at 5:00 wen cheyenne comes on

  • The finest Movies since the beginning of

TV AND BIG SCREEN. CLINT WALKER LOOKS,IN PERSON TODAY,not much different than 50 years ago. Warner Bro.blew it from a business standpoint by not showcasing MR.WALKER on the BIG SCREEN often and even now.....you do not need the profanity and nudity....just better writers and Cheyenne--A REAL MAN.

  • my names cheyenne i wish they made a real song named cheyenne except by som1 faomus nd i wish it made sense of my lif nd that its famous

  • ikr i hate where i live no one has this name i cant relate anywhere except with the indian

  • I always loved to watch this tv show when I was young.

  • There are many terrific TV western themes & Cheyenne is one of the greats!

  • This brings tears to my eyes. Makes me think of when America's morals were strong.

  • I saw this on encore westerns today, but the theme at the end was just like this without the background vocals, it loses something without them.

  • Thanks for uploading this.,

  • Between this, Maverick, and Bat Masterson's theme songs I'll have a ring tone for every occasion! Great shows!

  • Thanks so much for this posting. The Encore cable station has recently begun showing this series, but most of the time has only music and no lyrics. Thanks again for a great memory.

  • Immortal. One of the best theme songs ever. I just watched (on DVD) the first episode (from 1955). Besides Clint Walker, the episode has two of the greatest western character actors (John Doucette and Bob Wilke) , AND features James Garner's very first film appearance.

  • I wonder if anyone under the age of 40 who has no living memory of how good the music was on some of these old TV shows ever misses that element. If it weren't for Mike Post - and his stuff was mainly 70s and 80s - there wouldn't have been a memorable theme for several decades now. Doesn't matter much, I guess; the crapheads'd cover it over with screaming, self-serving promos anyway.

  • agreed.... :)

  • You are so right. William Lava was the composer for the Cheyenne theme, and so many others over the years (Disney's Zorro, Bonanza, and F Troop - just to name a few) and participated in the scoring of many movies (To Hell and Back is one notable) and cartoons.

  • as a young lad we didn`t have a telly in the late 50`s so i used to go and watch this at an old couples house that lived next door but 2 , so it always brings back happy memories . thanks

  • me too....

  • The wind that blows, that comes and goes, has been your only home.

But will the wild wind one day cease and you'll no longer roam?

Move along, Cheyenne, next pasture's always so green.

Driftin' on, Cheyenne don't forget the things you have seen,

And when you will settle down where will it be? Cheyenne...

    Cheyenne!

  • Cheyenne, Cheyenne where will you be camping tonight?

Lonely man, Cheyenne, will your heart stay free and light?

Dream, Cheyenne, of a girl you may never love

Move along, Cheyenne like the restless clouds up above.

  • do you know were to find those lyrics?

  • Immortai.

  • "I don't like to be pushed" Clint Walker's famous line from the Dirty Dozen. Lee Marvin say's " ah, go ahead Posey, just stick the knife in right here, it won't hurt much" Great scene. CW had it all, looks, talent, ability. I don't think he ever shot anyone on his TV series. Thanks for posting his theme. Hasn't America turned into a bunch of crap since 1956? Gere.

  • What are you talking about GereDJ, old Cheyenne shot em right and left.

  • As an ageing baby boomer this theme reminds me of watching the great Clint Walker with my parents. What a man...what a great tv show...how I miss those days!

  • This episode originally aired on December 18, 1956, as part of an alternate week "package" that also featured a Warner Bros. anthology series, "CONFLICT", every other Tuesday night [7:30pm(et)] on ABC during the 1956-'57 season. In the fall of 1957, "CHEYENNE" became a weekly series.

  • Que saudades! Ainda bem que temos o youtube que nos proporcina essa oportunidade.

  • Thanks for bringing back my lost youth. A few tears never hurt anyone.

  • I simply love this theme, thank you so much. This Western used to be the high light of my week on a Saturday night at 7PM on my small Black and White TV.

  • Yes this song brings tears to my eyes too.

  • Man, does this song ever bring tears to my eyes. It makes me think back when I was little, and played cowboys and Indians on my grandpa's farm.

The lyrics sure paint a picture of a lonely man, and, the mention of "restless clouds up above" remind me of the big, white, puffy clouds against the open blue sky, along with the line "next pasture's always so green", which makes me think back on the summer days out in the country. To have that, and programs like this back again...

  • wow you hit the nail on the head!

  • @audiophile55 if you have the hbo channels you can watch this all the time.

  • @audiophile55

The theme is the story of a lot of people's lives.

  • @shanghaibenny2 Thank you for sharing this.

  • Great theme. Thanks for posting it in its entirety.
